My miners spontainously decide to quit mining

All I do to fix it is designate another person to mine but I will run out of people at this rate

Here's a few things that come to the top of my head. It's the little things that catch you, so some of these things might seem like a 'duh'.

1. Make sure they're job preferences have the mining skill checked.

2. Woodcutting will remove mining from the job preferences, so it will need to be reactivated.

3. Your dwarves might be to 'busy' to mine. Try deactivating hauling and other menial tasks. Taking them out of the military would also make them less likely to wander off.

4. Have as many miners as you have picks (Or less miners then you have picks)

5. See if any burrows are restricting certain dwarves.

6. Are the picks being used by the military? Dwarves refuse to use the same axe for woodchopping and limbchopping.

Hopefully this fixes it.
