If you're unfamiliar with the form, the rhyme structure is a-a-b-b-a, and the rhythm is

DAM-do-be-DAM-do-be-DAM,
do-be-DAM-do-be-DAM-do-be-DAM
          BAM-do-be-BAM
          do-be-BAM-do-be-BAM
do-be-BAM-do-be-DAM-do-be-DAM

The structure is flexible with the non-stressed syllables, you can add or trim here or there to fit your line. You can extend any line by a foot if you extend the rest of the lines in the group to match and keep the rhythm going. The hardest part is to abide by the NO-EDITS! rule, when five minutes after posting you think of just the right word to make it much better... No edits! Live with it! Aargh!


The quintessential dirty limerick, which should tell you all about structure and rhythm is this one:

    There once was a man from Nantucket
    Whose dick was so long he could suck it.
        And he said with a grin
        As he wiped off his chin,
    "If my ear were a cunt, I would fuck it."


But mafia-limericks need not be dirty (they can, but it's not required)... Now have fun!

I would also like to take this time to officially curse my lack of limerick skill.

I don't know how I will catch scum -- I'll probably make a lot of NOOB mistakes.  I'm gonna start out by asking advice and maybe somebody will be tempted to give me bad advice.

Zathras, why are you encouraging us to use limericks? Are you hoping to divide our attention between rhyming and scum hunting, allowing the scum to slip by the radar more easily?

...you are saying here that you'd kill him even if he were your scumbuddy. That's... weird. If you were town with a daykill, would you use it on him at your first opportunity? If you were scum would you like him as scumbuddy, or would you truly try to kill him? (I don't think that's even allowed!)

Now answer me these questions three:

To find how your mind is aligned
all these questions are surely designed.
         If as scum you emerge,

Rhymeless if you prefer: if you were scum, would you prefer to be an apprentice or a sorcerer and why? If you were a scum Sorcerer, would you encourage zero, one or both of your scumbuddies to support your school, regardless of any proposed plan?

Of course I would try to organize assists, but I'd be subtle about it by playing well and "scumhunting". Thus encouraging others to assist me. However, I would do the same as town. I've never played a sorcerer's mafia, but it just seems like a bad idea to outright ask for assists. You should have to earn them through gameplay and actions.
