Even though it didn't work, I'm still very proud of my attack on Jim for obviously having the Dariush thing set up. Sure, I could have just poked away at a lurker or something, but this took style.

Yeah, that took some serious balls to make an accusation that ridiculous.

If you had balls enough to bus Nirur Torir early in Day 4 instead of stalling forever you probably could've won... more handily.

Yup, it took style, and was well done. Congratulations to the scum team of Dariush, Nirur, Jokerman, and Irony for a good win. 8-P

And I'm glad you say you'd have dropped Jokerman if it went to night. Jim and I were discussing that very thing on dead chat, and I also though Jokerman was the right decision, while he'd have dropped vadia. I like being right (although the popular choice is not necessarily the optimal, it's what would have happened).

Great game. Kudos to all for playing along with the limericks at the start, and boos to all for never supporting Fire and killing me N1.

Speaking of which:

Dariush, with a horrible claim.
Nirur's fake assist was also quite lame.
     Irony's style
     the town failed to beguile,
but Jokerman still managed to give them the game.

Scum with a smirk and a scowl,
Hatched some dark deeds most foul,
  But though Dariush fell,
  And Nirur as well,
In the end it was IronyOwl.

Dariush bungled his claim,
Nirur's assist did the same,
  Irony looked bad,
  But then Joker went mad,
And with vadia gave him the game.

Teehee. Now I can do limericks for some reason.

Sorry for the last change.  I tried my noob best which stunk -- don't forget Squirtle in the dark sorcerer list -- he killed the earth mage.

Wow, I failed so hard. I failed so epically hard I can scarcely believe it. I'm the worst mafia player ever.

Now someone tell me I'm wrong before my brooding kills me.

Also, JTF, can we please go back to abstract schools of color magic, instead of elemental ones?

And where did I slip except for my fakeclaim?

I did not deserve to win after that lurking I pulled off.

I thought for sure that somebody had noticed the following exchange, and would have gone after me following Dariush's flip. During day 2 I wasn't sure what I could do with so many other people attacking him, short of jumping on the bandwagon to bus my scumbuddy. Thus, lurking.
Also, what is the reasoning beyond your Nirur vote?
I can't actually tell if you're trying to go after somebody questioning me as an attempt to look like your scum hunting, or if it's a failed buddying attempt.
I could also have waited half an hour for IronyOwl to tell me about Jokerman's trap, but really should have asked for him to tell me exactly what the PM said earlier.

I won't make those mistakes again. Hopefully.

Everybody makes mistakes, newer players especially.

you fakeclaimed too early, IMO.  If you waited about three hours you probably wouldn't have been lynched.

Actually, I think it was a good try.  You were headed for the lynch anyway, so a last stand to get out of it is worth a shot.  The only problems were the power levels were wrong and your vote history didn't match your claim.   As to the slip:

Toaster:
Dariush:  Let's assume three of the sorcs are town.  Would you rather see each get two assists or two get three assists?
Isn't it known for sure that three out of four are town? In any case, I should know the powers to judge the priorities.

It wasn't ever stated that there was one scum sorc.  Yes, it's a logical assumption, but not clear cut... unless you're scum and know that for sure.  You knew too much, and the informed minority is Team Scum.

Oh and Irony, if it makes you feel better, you had me doubting Jim with that claim.  I had had some PMs with Jim D2 that made me pretty sure he was town (relating to assists), and I couldn't shake a solid scum feel from Nirur, so I wasn't convinced enough to change my mind.

I think you totally missed a chance for DF-style FUN with Mass Confusion.  You could have confused EVERYONE and bought yourself a free night, or confused four people, one of which was scum, to dilute the town's power that day.

That said, needing three out of four people for an extension seems excessive- that's why I go with 33% in my games.
I was going off a simple majority. Problem is, that's 3/4 if you're down to the end game. I think I will drop that down in the future.

Wow, I failed so hard. I failed so epically hard I can scarcely believe it. I'm the worst mafia player ever.
You're not that horrible. You're just a little too volitile to play a sneaky scum game.

Also, JTF, can we please go back to abstract schools of color magic, instead of elemental ones?
The elemental ones weren't actually much more concrete than the colors. Those were always themed as well, although the connection may not have been as obvious. I'll consider going back though.

It wasn't ever stated that there was one scum sorc.  Yes, it's a logical assumption, but not clear cut... unless you're scum and know that for sure.  You knew too much, and the informed minority is Team Scum.
I did say this before, although no one explicitly brought it up this round: there is a possibility for 0, 1, or 2 scum Sorcerers in the script I run. If there are none, the town Sorcerers are much less powerful and if there are 2, the town Sorcerer(s) are much more powerful. It's just weighted as unlikely and thus hasn't come up yet.

Would it be a good idea to allow any scum sorcerer the chance to request a fake claim (spell list) from the mod? Although in this instance, waiting for IronyOwl in the Dark Chat probably would have helped.

That's up to you.  I know the mods at MafiaScum like to give their scum teams fake claims, especially in theme games, so there's precedent.

also JTF, you've got to have a replacement system for lurk-death sorcs.

other sorcs it's up to you.

I think giving a fake set from the start would be a better idea, since a player may need it in a hurry and live in a different timezone from the moderator. That is also why I didn't consult with Irony.
