It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum
« on: January 09, 2011, 01:31:46 pm »

So I bought Borderlands Game of the year edition, and got Duke Nukem first access!

I haven't actually tried it yet, but I heard I can get into the beta because of this.
Any one else got this?

Also I will pot updates as I try it.

I found Borderlands very dull so I never considered getting the fancy edition even when it was on sale.  Really I have liked anything Gearbox has done since Opposing Force.  I suppose I should like them for giving Anthony Burch what he claims is his dream job.

Blah, lame. I already got borderlands, I'm not going to go out and buy the entire special edition.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the beta!

I liked Borderlands, I thought the controls were excellent, fun gameplay(repetetive later) and a lot of weapon porn. I also have all of the expansions, but I purchased them as they came out. Robot rebellion was my favorite.

I don't have the special edition and I got the first access key.  Check the properties and see if it's listed in the DLC

From what I understand, anyone who owns Borderlands on Steam gets a key to DNF. I've got one, and I bought Borderlands back before any of this DLC nonsense. (The beta access key is listed under Borderlands -> View CD Key, if you own it.) There was also a website set up where you could redeem keys, but it wasn't actually active yet - you could visit the page, but couldn't redeem your key yet.

Oh wow.  Look at that you're right....  Well here's hoping when DNF is finally released it isn't some consolized piece of crap eh?

Do you have to have the game installed to get the key?  I own borderlands and there's no view CD key option...

EDIT: Oh hey nevermind!  I guess it's under DLC rather than being a key, weird?

WHAT.

I have borderlands on the 360, not the PC. :P

I pray to every god I can think of every night that it isn't "consolized" if only so we don't have to hear about it when the game comes out.

Yeah, can you imagine? A whole prehistoric era in the making and it's a hashed together, unmemorable FPS, drowned out by the cries of those who wanted it to be PC only...

I honestly don't have any hope that DNF won't be a console game.  Look at GB's track record.  They have never made a PC game.  They made an expansion for Half Life one, and then everything since has been a console FPS.  I mean sure, it's possible that they could make a PC game and port it to consoles as well, but why would they when making a console game and porting it to PC is so much more profitable?

That would be both a massive shame and hilarious.
