Dwarf fortress 0.31.18b has been released.

*Elves may now mount giant bees.

Oh screw you! I just ran to see the new update. There was none, you broke my heart.

It sounded fishy, but I admit, I went and checked, too >_>...

And then before you know it, someone will mod in dogs with bees in their mouths so when the dogs bark they shoot bees at you.
Dogs with frickin' bees in their mouths.

Long ago, I had a vision: A great hallway that flooded with water at the pull of a lever. Then I realized this vision wasn't dwarfy enough, so I decided to replace the water with bees.

Now, I simply wait for Toady to make my dreams possible.

Heh heh. I actually have three hives of Russian/native European hybrids.

I'll tell you right now: Bees are a lot less deadlysuperawesome than you're making them out to be.

However, swarms of bees with grasping bite attacks and projectile venom stingers...

Cool derail attempt.

Man, have you not seen the Wicker Man remake?! Seriously, don't.

But seriously, giant bees/wasps would be a pretty great addition to DF. I can see DF having giant albino cave wasps, even though that makes pretty much no sense whatsoever. Actually, I guess it does; there are lots of open caverns and ceilings and crevices that a flying predator could take advantage of. Oh, and they should lay eggs in corpses. Or in live creatures. Whichever.

I just want to be able to use beehives in place of stones in my catapult battery. That'll make those pesky goblins think twice about attacking me.

Also: BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!

You forget that normal, rational people are really frigging scared of bees. Weirdo.

Actually, I fell into a hornet's nest on my first day of first grade, so I have an even deeper-seated fear of stinging insects than most people. But hey, I haven't been stung since first grade.

Wonder if I'll need to make any changes to the Guy Made of Bees megabeast in that Kingdom of Loathing mod I started a while back but haven't worked on in a while.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

I usually don't shove my head in the hive-box and have a friend kick it. :P

Edit: Okay, I watched the scene again and... Wow. It's even more fun the second time. We need this implemented in DF immediately.

My only thought is....Magma Bees....

I can see it now a swarm of bees suddenly fly up from the magma stinging many dwarfs and injecting them with fiery venom.

What about wearing metal plating around bees
I have this image in my head of thousands of bees sitting around with little tiny hammers trying to pound their stingers straight again.
