Going one step further, designating animals as catapult ammunitions.
An easier way to release the war dogs.

an awesome tacit would be a 'dog handler' milta type that could quite literary 'unleash the dogs of war' but properly instead of just tying them to 100 chains or assigning them to your milta.

it would just be an awesome way to soften up the enemy or chase down fleeing foes.

oh god yes! that would be awesome!!! load them into catapults and fire your dwarves over the walls to have them sail down safely!!!, issues including armoured dwarves being to heavy to 1) fire very high to begin with 2) be slowed by the parachute enough.
