Sorry, everyone, I always thought I'd try to not be that guy who starts a really long thing and then disappears
off the face of the earth or returns and never brings up the game again.
I'm still around, I'm just a lot busier than I was when I first started this. Honestly, I never even figured Space Voyage
would still be a thing a year and a half later.
Although it's been
months since I've updated, I assure you I have no plans to abandon Space Voyage
permanently. Aside from better managing my time to include silly comic things in addition to polishing an actual portfolio,
there were a few things I wanted to do that I've been wanting to do that I've been putting off. I've wanted to come up with
standardized methods of producing clean anti-aliased art, produce model sheets for races and technology to make them
consistently visually distinct from each other (make all of the characters not look the same), finally put much of the
setting backstory into writing even if I'm going to change it later, and get a little more loose with the tone to prevent
from becoming needlessly grim-dark or pedantic (The sci-fi is already soft, why change it).
These things will, of course, take time and I figured I'd eventually get to working on it once you're already accustomed to waiting.
The things that have frustrated me about Space Voyage are mostly my own fault, I've had trouble with the art and story because it's all
thought up on the spot and I feel generally uninspired because my visual and literary libraries were lacking (The lat sci-fi novel I've read in the
was Hitchhiker's Guide and that was over three years ago). Book recommendations would be appreciated
I suppose in addition to being swamped I didn't really think my current skill level was appropriate for a multi-year project.
To reiterate I don't want this to become one of those bemoaned death threads haunted by the moaning of fans that fall upon deaf ears.
I could still answer simple questions and throw around concepts and redesigns. There have been a few other short ISG based games
that I've toyed around with starting that I might do. I suppose it will really depend on the input of you, you strangers friendly enough
to humor my silly alien story that bit off more than I could chew.
Thank You
FAKE EDIT:Yeah I know TQ-01 was actually abandoned in the melted crack between the walls, I just didn't feel like drawing all of those cables.
REAL EDIT: Picture was friggin hueg
