You stare forth at the strange ocular orb levitating high above the ground.
The orb seems fixated upon some point far in the distance.
The presence of this orb unsettles you.

You feel a compulsion to explore onward through these woods.

The woods themselves are equally unsettling. They exude some
aura of timelessness that permeates the underbrush.

This forest is ancient yet not overgrown like those you are familiar with.
The strange trees appear dead or sleeping as though they have been
in some sort of stasis for untold aeons.

As you travel onward you become aware of this sense of wrongness more and more.

Whether it was minutes or hours, your trek terminates at the source of
the wrongness. An edifice wholly unnatural to this strange world.

A gleaming crystalline landscape looms before you.
The strange static plantlife of the forest withers in its presence
leaving the sandy hillside clear of any brush.

This substance's alien properties degrade the strange flora, yet it seems
somehow familiar to you.

You examine a piece.

Sodium Chloride, pure and strangely abundant.

You look upon the weird crystal mountain once more.
It stands as a monument to unnatural forces you
don't understand. It's gleaming sides spelling death and abrasion,
yet you are drawn to it somehow.

What do you do?

Attempt to dissolve the sodium chloride by using liquid from your body on it via crying or spitting. Otherwise climb to the top and exclaim,"I'm emperor of this plane!!"

Form a pickaxe out of the sodium and STRIKE THE SALT.
Then dig out a good cave out of it and carve out a door.

You've never seen so much NaCl in your life. It's taste is exotic in
your unfamiliarity with it. Only in tears have you tasted it before.

It should do no harm to take a little taste. You liken
it to getting a yogurt in order to better enjoy Dextrose.

You take a handful to try.

Hurk.

That was bad. Really bad.
You don't even know what you were thinking.

You are still haunted by the persisting flavour of NaCl.

The mountain, it beckons. There's just something about it
that draws your interest. Be it the unnatural qualities of the
peak itself or some underlying force drawing you to it.

You begin to scale the mount in search of the source of
it's unnatural origin. Curiosity compels you to climb further
up its salty cliffs.

For every meter that you approach the peak, a compulsion within
you urges you onward through the precarious ledges and the slippery
halite ridges covered with sand.

And as you ride higher above the clouds and the luminescent
eye, the halite stones begin shewing even further unnatural formations.

You dare not look down for fear that you have scaled hundreds if not
thousands of feet, but are lead on by the same unmistakable force.

Near the summit of the cruel mountain of halite you reach a wholly
artificial cave formation in the rock. Fine sands blow through the light wind
at this incredible height and give off the illusion of unfamiliar voices
whispering about the cliffs.

You are at a height so that the cyclopean eye that once levitated so far above
now lies behind you. No light shines in the narrow cave as your own shadow extinguishes
all light that passes through.

The feeling inside you draws you closer to the cave, but your own caution resists.
You have no desire to meet your doom in this cramped cavern. Yet it continues to beckon.
You shew no small apprehension at the thought of being drawn into this cramped cave.

What will you do?

That's right, I did a face joke, it's all downhill from here.

"it's all downhill from here."

He says when standing atop a mountain. So that's a face-joke and a bad pun.

Anyhow, go face your doom!
