You swipe away the hideous creepy-crawlies
Their tiny forms scatter with your mighty swipe.

The majority of them are slain in this outburst of disgust.
The remaining ones remain out of your reach. Humming uncomfortable
tunes and muttering unspeakable hymns.

Ew, gross. Your hand is covered in creepy-crawlie shmutz.

You attempt to wipe this off on the cavern floor.

It is now suddenly very dark.
You fear for the motives of the remaining creepy-crawlies

You can hear their clacking maws as they try to imitate language.
They begin to chant some fractured but identifiable words in unison.

"hello hello lame one come. Eye master, world traveler, dream seeker"
"hello lame one hello hello, dream seeker hello hello."
"dream seeker drop power us toward, hello hello"

Apologize, then ask what you can do to make up for it.

You apologize for slaying the creepy crawlies.
Your pleas to be left alone echo in the cramped tunnel.
You cry for them to leave.

The creepy crawlies continue their chants.

"Hello hello dream seeker, drop power us toward"
"hello salt power us toward"
"dream seeker melt us toward salt."

This serves only to confuse and startle you more.

A pinkish light emerges from the tiny tunnel
opposite this strange filthy sanctum of creepies.

More creepy crawlies appear from the tunnel
holding bizarre tools and wielding a fuchsia flame.

The new creepy crawlies slaughter the chanting creepy crawies.
This agitates you even more but you're still relieved that the chanting
has stopped.

One of the new ones procures a strange artifact and approaches
an unknown device.

The creepy crawlie applies the artifact to the device and
screeches some strange thing to its comrades before
turning a crank on the side.

The music is terrible and grating like a steel grinder
rubbing against your tension based sonic receptor organs.
It is, however, unmistakably familiar.

You find yourself in an infirmary's recuperation tank.
Many questions flow through your mind.
Was that all a dream? Were you really traveling in another world?
Would it affect your responsibility meter to get another Gran Mungo?
Most pertinently is what happened to TQ-05. You certainly hope
she's okay. You'll just have to wait a few hours to be discharged.
On the bright side, you feel a little better after the sleep.
And those bags under your eyes have retained their original elasticity.
All in all it hasn't been a bad day of--

You have fainted

Please select a new character.

Wow, TQ-04 really did kind of have a long day off.

You are Alpha Rauthaz

You have just awakened from an unconsciousness brought about
by a blow to the head by a robot driven by a criminally insane Sectoid.

You'd go after them for having the gall to assault you, but you
have bigger fish to fry. Your empire is being seized from you and you
need to get back in control of the bureaucracy before they can secure their new regime.

This sure is turning into one hell of an MCP

You notice something peculiar. Don't you usually wear the palladium circlet of
the Alphas? You're certain you were wearing it. You've yet to take it off in 50 cycles.

That means...

Those traitorous scum can wait. You've got a crown to reclaim.
And boy do you hope they resist.

Remember your time at Dictator Training School and brainwash some mindless sectoids to help hunt down the infidels.

((This is getting better and better!))

Check your psychic fatigue meter (or whatever it was). That nap should've refreshed rejuvinated. And then...

Remember your time at Dictator Training School and brainwash some mindless very interesting new additions to the cast of admirable sectoids to help hunt down the infidels.

This.
