Yeah, I'm sick, and personally I'd like something to drink that won't either make me upchuck, or will react with the mucus in the back of my throat(like soda does), and isn't just water.

I'll still drink plenty of water mind you, but I like tasty drinks.

Now please... I want some serious advice. No deadly substances, no alchohol(just below the legal limit here anyway), no primordial ooze, no alien goo, no bodily substances(yes that includes milk and the silly sort of things), and damnit simply no bad advice, you are dealing with a sick man don't be an ass and make him vomit some more!

See that? I at least try to keep a somewhat humorous tone.

Oh, and I've tried lemonade just for the sake of it, could work but I don't know if it'll bite me later if I consume more.

Tea. I enjoy it in general, but it's very nice and un-cloggy when you're sick.

Chances are I won't be able to get anything better than green, is there any other nationally offered types available?(USA)
Or should I go with that as it might be the best choice?

Cupasoup, or whatever Yankee brands you have, I always drink the stuff when I'm sick.

Juice, many many kinds.
Rosehip soup (good stuff).
Black tea, I'm sure they sell some.
Green tea, either warm or iced.
Coffee.

I was wondering, how would V8 juice do? Or would that be a really bad idea?

No idea. I've never had the stuff myself.

V8 would probably be good for your immune system but I'd think it would make you puke if you're sick to your stomach.

Some lemon-y tea variant would probably be the best if you're feeling clogged (lemon camomile comes to mind), but honestly, drinking something warm and hot alone that doesn't just taste like water will do wonders.

I like apple juice when I'm ill. It's quite contracting really, with the throat hurting you wouldn't generally want anything acidic back there, but the sugary goodness is too much to resist. It doesn't help your throat or your condition in general, but I've always been a sucker for it, and if you're looking for something else than just plain water...

Bah, I just pop open a can of canned pineapples and drink the juices from the can like those old fashioned fruity juice canned canned juice in a can.

I'm going to go make myself some Neo Citrin, as I am also sick. It usually helps when I get sick.

It probably won't do much to help you get better, but I find that Sprite has weird properties when it comes to sick people. It certainly seems to make throwing up less likely whenever that's a posibility, and it does indeed remain tasty even while you are sick. Then again, you said soda reacted with the mucus in your throat, so I can give no promises on this.
