Yeah, strategically placed pump stacks should do it.

Seems I made a mistake before. I said half months until the end of they year but it was half years. Anyways...
I started engraving the zoo, dining room and danger room. The apartment building has less than 1/3 left to build. I still can't find the aquifer. I've dug about 20 holes in different spots in the sand until I hit rock. Any tips? I also got another ambush. Damn goblins are annoying.

Hmm, if you want it the easy way, use dfreveal. Hard way's just poking around holes and whatnot.

Clearly now all we need added are dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you. Thus we can release them along with the dogs & bees themselves when unwelcome guests come to your fortress.

And then lock the door.

Yeah, I said I wouldn't cheat. Nor use exploits on purpose.

I'm sorry.

Did you save the site embark map? Might give a clue.

No... But I guess I could just create a copy of my saved game and abandon the fortress in the copy to reclaim and see where the aquifer is. To create the copy, do I just copy the entire save folder and that's it?

Slowed down a lot because of lots of schoolwork. I'll still be on the forum and can check in the game and do a thing or two often.

I'll put you in as soon as I have the time. There are no more migrant waves though. (Unless we have an accident (They do happen quite often.) and then after that the game saves so I can't revert.) I set the limit to 25 dwarves because the more creatures we have the more lag comes and I have about 2/5 of the dwarves idling all the time. I'll still find the best suiting dwarf for you. Oh, and how about a lava moat around the map for defense? Those goblins are a huge headache. We could even do something fun with it. Just suggesting. :)

soooo the entranceway lavafall feeds the lavamoat across one side of the map. the waterfall from the entrance feeds the water moat along the otherside of the map. bridges are created and managed for trade caravans. then, because the water/lava would have to flow in a circuit of sorts, there may have to be a section of a single tile path to get through to the fortress entrance at all times. With this narrow passage, one could set up an artillery barrage for any invading group. this group would be forced into single file.    :D

Narrow walkway of weak weapon traps over a pit with lava/water at the bottom.
