For the record, I'm against Zrallin dying.

Pale Wheat was readily available as a pain reliever...    ::)

Also, I remember this.

What was this? And why didn't we use it this time?

No, I'm not really expecting Weirdsound to retcon Kadzar back into the game-this is more of a post mortem.

Because you went off and did it by yourself.

Lillipad is being auto'd by the GM-not by the players. His magic was needed for a successful surgery...it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume he would have done so, given that he was doing nothing else at the time.

Eh. I'll just have Caboose do menial labor this turn
^death sentence!

I would take this alot more personally if Kadzar didn't shrug it off himself. lol

Whatever, next turn please.

The odds of him dying were quite small. If he had merely failed his pain tolerance roll you could have easily corrected any accidental damage you caused. Unfortunately he rolled the dreaded snake eyes, which ensure an epic failure of the highest degree and was thus mortally wounded. I was going to leave him a few turns to die or receive a miracle but then I remembered I forgot to roll for Disaed's flaw.

For the first time since Dwarmin joined the game the 20% chance of this flaw becoming active kicked in. When I rolled for severity of the episode it was a 9/10, so into his heart the dagger went. If I made any mistake last turn it was not being clear enough that your flaw came into play.

And what doctor would give ingestable anesthetic to somebody with a torn intestine anyways...

Screw you Ochita. He had like a 90% chance of surviving the operation even without pain magic. That doesn't qualify me for malpractice.

I wouldn't say 90%. He would have had to make 3 more pain tolerance rolls before the surgery would have been a success. But yeah, Zrallin died not because of malpractice, but because of dice cruelty.

I can attest to how cruel the dice can be. I'm running an old-school D&D campaign, and one of the PCs has an artifact melded with his left eye. It has a rod of wonder type effect, and it lets him talk to animals. The rod of wonder effect can be triggered by stress (He can also try to trigger it on purpose, but still doesn't have any control over the exact effect.). Basically, during a stressful event, he has to make a saving throw versus spells, or the artifacts goes off. In  one recent session, the party was in a city run by a magic AI (That was actually rather friendly). The PC with the artifact was in a temple, and ended up in a stressful situation. He failed his saving throw, and the effect caused even more stress (and more failed saving throws), causing a cascade of stress and random effects that eventually damaged (Read: Vaporized) some of the data conduits for the AI. It then went all GLaDOS on them. So, yeah, the dice can be right proper bastards at times.

Considering how magic works in this game, I would love to see the results of your attempt to do so.  :P

Hmm... I don't feel comfortable starting the trial without input from Caboose or Karratan. But I don't want to wait on this forever...

I guess that gives me three options.
A: Wait on the people who are late
B: Give control of their actions during the trial to another player
C: Take control of the two of them myself

I'm leaning towards B, because A could take forever, and I just wouldn't feel right about C. Still want input from the active players on this matter.

No option is good...but we shouldn't be waiting for them any longer. It's hard enough as it is trying to bring this game back from the graveyard.

I guess I would vote option B as well. Obviously not Ochita or me, since we're biased...

I think I already said in the main topic that Kazadar can cast a vote as an inactive character if he wants come to think of it. But that still leaves one...

You know what... Vorthon's character has some IC issues (Lack of language and potentialy apathy) that prevent him from voting. How about he takes Karratan's vote. Still, both Disaed and Zrallin played a huge roll in recently saving Kar's life, so not having Pillowkillers opinion would be quite regrettable.

I don't think I have much more insight into the mind of Lillipad/Caboose than you do, but, if you need someone to cast an inpartial vote, I guess I could do it.

At this point I just want to get the game moving, I know it is a less than perfect solution, so go for it. That said if it wasn't a trial I'd just go on without the missing ones...

Sorry to double post.

I'll be honest. I'm seriously thinking of killing this game. It is not that I'm bored with it. This is quite honestly one of the funnest things I have ever written in my life.

That said I am terribly disorganized. I have to re-invent the HP and combat systems each time a fight breaks out, because I can't bother myself to write it down. Also hypocritical as it is considering my long leave of absence, It just dosn't feel right doing anything without Lillypad or Pillowkiller.

I already have a new idea for a similar game, and I will be more organized this time around. If I do end this I will give active players preferential seating in the new game.

All good things must come to an end. Should Elfin Refugees time be now?

I'd like your input before I come to a decisions. Regardless of what happens, I will do the next turn, and if I decide to kill it, an ending. If this thing dies I want it to leave a beautiful corpse.
