My door acquaintances won't talk to Ochita while he's using my body, will they?

I'm curious, shouldn't I have some sort of Forbidden Power thing too, since my history says I'm cursed? Also the mineral magic skill.
I don't particularly care about either of those things, I've just been curious.

Eh. You've probably sorted out the situation and made the others accept you at some point before the game started. Nobody has tried to kill you for using magic yet. And you still have all your skills. You can use ice magic all you want.

I was talking about Ochita's bonus to mineral magic. I'm not sure if I missed something about that in character creation, or if I just didn't care enough about it during finalization. Couldn't care less if I had it or not, just wanted to know if I'm now blind alongside my already being brain dead.

You'll have to experiment with perks/flaws on your own. Don't forget you may have one that can temporarily get you out of your current injured state and/or complicate the situation further.

You shouldnt have "Forbidden power" your a dawnelf, I have it because I'm a justborn, at worst you will have some sort of a youthful appearance flaw that decreases your forceful interactions with other dawnelves.

Also if you read my history I've tasted sentient flesh before so I'll eat some for you lillipad, eventually.

What skill would summoning a spirit count as?

Prayer has the word spirit in its description, so I'm guessing that.

It is a perk, so summoning the spirit is guaranteed so long as you have the time to do it and are willing to pay the costs. Controlling and manipulating the spirit could be Mineral Magic, prayer, pacification and/or barter depending on which route you want to go. Also as a justborn reaching maturity your experience perk and flaw will continue to shift and change based on your actions. So don't get too comfortable with what you have. If you ever like what you have you can get the others to throw you a proper coming of age ritual to lock down your experience traits. You'd be the first of a new generation! The group could name it.

Is eating sentient beings a normal part of night elf society? I'm kind of curious. I don't remember that being in the description for my subspecies. I guess I wouldn't be opposed if my character had eaten some people in the past as part of special occasions or ceremonies or whatever.

Night Elves don't realy have a society. They are raised by their parents in relatively normal settings. They value solitude so after they mature they tend to avoid other sentients. Most eventually start hunting humanoids to follow a natural urge or honor their heritage. Some kill to impress potential mates, as nothing to them is quite as romatic as making the meal out of the heart of a creature that can feel love.

The Warborn nightelves such as your character are the major exception. Most were absorbed into the army of whatever society they were born into. The structure of military regime purged or suppressed their natural desire for solitude. Many of these elfs deserted once it was clear the war was lost and continued the night elf tradition of sentient predation. To be part of this refugee group I'd guess Zrallin's instincts were crushed almost completely, and that he remained in the military until the day he started the journey to the new land.

I'd guess Zrallin may have experimented with the night elf diet once or twice to attempt absorb the traits of a worthy human foe or to impress a crush, but overall the behavior would be considered inappropriate for the society in which he lived.

(I'm building the history of the world in part based on your characters histories! Fun!)

Edit: I didn't consider diet to be worth mentioning for every subspecies. But if I ever run another game in this universe I'll definitely add it in the Night Elf description. I imagine the wood elves being like the standard DF elves except for the sentient devouring part. A suitably powerful and insane night elf is basically one of the night creatures you encounter in adventure mode.

Generally changing experience perks/flaws is reserved of justborn. Besides isn't random magical stuff so much !!Fun!!?

Also, major announcement. I've just seen my college schedule for the semester, and it aint pretty. There is no way in heck I'm gonna be able to keep up with this once school heats up in about a month. What should I do? The way I see it there are three options.

A: End the game. I'll write up a nice epilouge for each character. I will then most likely run a mass sugestion game set in the same universe, which should be somewhat less time consuming for me. When summer starts I will try to start a direct sequel. In any future game I set in the universe I will give reserved seating or weighted votes to people playing or on the waiting list before this post.

B: Hand off and/or share the reins. I'll let someone else try their hand at running this monster. I don't care what system you use, so long as results have an element of chance to them. If the new GM currently has a character, I'll swap with them and continue playing. I'll stick around and update the game information in this thread, and I may even write up turns where significant stuff happens.

C: Go on hiatus. I'll just vanish and pick back up sometime in may or June. I'm afraid if I do this I may not return. So many new games come out this year, and I'm just getting into tabletop gaming, so I doubt I'll have time for DF and by extension this board if I'm not involved in a forum game to keep me around. If that Kobold game that I inherited a player in keeps a steady update schedule or enough good sugestion games crop up I'll stick around for sure.

Share your thoughts. This is not a vote: I will make up my own mind. I would however like to hear what you guys think.

If you can find someone who wants to share the GM spot, then I'd say go for it. I'd try it, but I'm too predictable/random with my writing, and also don't want to give up Caboose.

And yes, magical overload is Fun.
