The Grand Tomb
« on: April 26, 2007, 03:15:00 am »

In the fortress of Callrim, only a few have died.

Yet I built a grand tomb.

And this poor kid ended up in there.

Oh yeah, with the engravings enabled. Lots of engravings of dwarves and werewolves. And horses, killing lots of werewolves. Hunters helped, too.

Wow, that's one sweet tomb. Why don't I ever come up with things like that? Time to start being more creative when playing...

Btw, what's that tileset your using. I like it's look.

It's my own personal tileset. A few more tweaks and it will be ready to share.

Every coffin in there was carved from rock in there. I had a Mason go fey on me and got lucky (he found what he needed). So I built a single Mason's shop inside the tomb, a bed for the mason, a drink stockpile, food stockpile, table, chair. He carved all 3 bar and masterpiece coffins for the tomb. However, the dummy made a coffin himself, long before the tomb, as his artifact. Nice, but it weighs 350, and he got good agility and toughness, but NOT strength. So he still moved like a slug =/.

Yeah, I have to agree. That tomb kicks some ass... Is the rest of the fort anywhere near as awesome? It looks like it'd be cool to explore in adventure mode

That looks amazing. I've been working on kind of a big tomb myself (This time for a reason, wicked beak dogs!) but it's by no means that impressive.

The rest of the fort is very cleanly designed and well organized, but by no means nearly as detailed (or cleared of grey rock, yet).

The 'S' room is a snake-shaped statue garden. It's a little weak. My grand dining hall which will be just right of the snake and just north of the apartment complex under construction between the chasm and the magma. It will be a giant Toad, for the great god that created the whole dwarven (end elfin, goblin, etc.) world!

The tileset is pretty cool. I don't like the dwarves though... I'm used to a beard by now

Ok, I'll tweak it up (and give the dwarfs back their beards, they used to have one) and make it available. Like any art project, it is never truly done, it can always be tweaked...

I was planning to live with ore/gems stuck in the walls. I was amazed as well when it was all dug out that I had only rock walls to smooth.

Still haven't found any hematite though, which is why magma operations are not up yet (as you can('t) see from the minimap at the top.)

But what do I know?
Everything I say should be taken with atleast 1 tsp. of salt, and another liter of Dwarven Wine is recommended.

"I thought it was the size of the others!" said Vanon. "I guess it was just standing further away!"
