putting it out of it's misery
« on: January 07, 2011, 09:23:41 pm »

I have a forgotten beast in my cavern. it is a salt blob with wings that jiggles. No special attack or anything. What would be a fitting end to this pathetic creature?

edit: oops. wrong forum

Encase it in obsidian, and engrave a memorial nearby its preserved corpse.

Capture it and place it in your Zoo/Park for all Dwarfs to laugh and so that all dwarf children may grow up terrified of salt.

I'd LOVE to capture it, but you can't catch them in cages, can you? Maybe I'll build a noble's room down there and lure the blob inside it, then lock the door bridge behind him.

Lure it into a box with crystal glass walls and a steel raising bridge as a door. Zoo.

Let it roam free through your fortress, nudging dwarves for attention until someone spits it to death..

Glass walls blocks vision... Use windows instead.
Also you can go in adventure mode. You will see that glass blocks vision.

I thought all FB were building destroyers, so windows would fall out.

Oh, just hack off it's wings and pit the damned thing and be done with it.

If you managed to somehow get it webbed you could cage it, but unless you have a tamed giant cave spider lying around, I don't see that happening.
