Stairs down not disappearing? 33f
« on: December 16, 2007, 02:40:00 am »

Hey there;

Multiple separate instances;

I had a dug-out soil up-and-down staircase that I had misplaced, and so designated it to be destroyed; the up-and-down staircase was destroyed, leaving a downward staircase that I couldn't designate to destroy. Later, I constructed an up-and-down staircase out of ice when I was doing some excavation in a river -- when the river unfroze, the staircase became a 'rough water block downward staircase.' The ice melted, I'd guess, but the staircase wasn't destroyed.

Down stairs are technically considered as being dug under the floor, the only real way to get rid of them is to either designate a channel on them or construct a floor on them.

Though, water-block down stairs is both slightly odd and amusing.

So -- removed the stairwell after some reflooring to get to where it was located, and the ice floor beneath it still exists in the middle of summer. The stairwell was being constructed during the thaw; perhaps that's what caused this? Both ground and ice block were in a task during the temperature check to thaw ice, and so were ignored during the check? I'll give an update if next winter has a freeze, and the ice lasts through the subsequent thaw.
