The best part of it is in part 1 (link) where some guy
says that Pokémon names are names of oriental demons.
Possibly inaccurate, but "demonic" references in anime and things in general that would reasonably freak out the average christian are fairly common. A few of the top top of my head:
* In Dragonball, one of the secondary characters is named
Mr Satan, and there's a sequence during a later tournament in which an entire crowd of people in chanting his name over and over while holding signs that read "Satan". Looked for a youtube clip, can't find one, but if you watch it in Japanese...seriously, it's...amusing. Oh, and incidentally his daughters name is Videl. Rearrange the letters and tell me what you get.
* Dragonball has several characters who are
literally demons, and called such by name
* An early episode of Sailor Moon has Rei conjuring up a Shinto fire god, who basically looks like a red demon with horns
* In Evangelion humanity is at war with angels, and have
this in their basement. Can't blame christians for raising an eyebrow at that.
* Then you've got crazy stuff like
Urotsukidoji, which is, if you'll forgive the simplification, basically about a bunch of demons going around raping people.
Urotsukidoji is basically porn with plot, Evangelion is presumably intended for at least a teen audience, but Dragonball and Sailor Moon have a much younger target audience. Just try to imagine being a christian parent, getting a "kid's show" like dragonball for your 7 year old, then walking in to find him watching a crowd of people chanting "Satan! Satan! Satan!" over and over. It's unfortuante I'm not finding an original, unedited video, but here's the scene
in english, though the dub tones it down a lot. There are the signs, but I only actually hear one person say Satan out loud. In the orginal Japanese, it's the entire crowd, chanting it over and over for a good 10 seconds.
Anyway, Pokemon probably isn't a great example, but there's plenty of stuff in anime that christian-minded people could reasonably be shocked about.
