Your mention of diabetes just reminded me of that comic where Pinkie Pie gets diabetes, which reminded me of Bittersweet, which I haven't read because my family has a history of chronic depression and I don't want to have that flare up again.

Edit: Naturally, I just started reading it.

Edit2: Well, I was just going along through the story, thinking "this isn't that bad" and then the end.  :'(
