Ho ho, forgot to mention that the strikes must be graphic to have any adverse effect on me... and it typically applies to humans only.

I'm reading "Fallout Equestria" fan-fiction, and it begins by description of life in an underground pony shelter. Life was dull, and walls were all gray (granite?), so artists making fresks were highly prized. Government decided to put cheerful songs on the radio, and paintings and murals in high traffic areas and organize parties to stave off depression. Guess, what that reminds me of :D
