I just don't see the appeal of that style of writing (at least, I think it's a style. When it's done intentionally, I suppose it must be.) I watched about a half a minute of a Half:Life Full Consequences in ponyvision, and I was very glad when the next video in the countdown came up.


EDIT: Sweet merciful Celestia, dramatic readings of Spiderses are already on youtube.

Uh... something on topic..... I'm getting motivational troubles for designing my pony game. Anyone have any awesome pony media to share? Music, videos, whatever (just not fanfiction); so long as it's creative. I tend to get inspiration from that sort of stuff.

Afraid I can't really join in on the conversation at hand here, but I'll say this: What has My Little Pony done to me?

I finally had enough of just chuckling at the fan art in this thread (in particular Rainbow Dash apparently mutilating the other pony), and tracked down a few episodes on Youtube.  I actually enjoyed it.  It was a strange feeling... but I never really got the impression that I was watching a girl's show.  The humor indeed seems to transcend the age and gender boundaries.  Perhaps aimed at a younger audience, but I get enough laughs out of Spongebob that fact doesn't bother me.

I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it, mind you, but if it was on I'd watch it.  It's a lot better than 90% of the crap on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network these days at any rate.

(Oh, and I'm mildly disturbed and surprised that I'm not the only one who entertained the idea of a MLP and WH40K crossover)

I hear a lot of rabid fanboys people treat it like the second coming of Christ say it's good, and a lot of 4channers people treat it like the intellectual apocalypse say it's bad.

I myself know literally nothing about it besides the name.

From what I've heard, it's well written, but makes up a lot of mythology not supported by the show itself. So if you're the type that doesn't like original characters or new and likely to be contradicted history, don't read it. Otherwise, go for it.

It's hard to make a creative, original story with what shows throw at you, especially something as vague as MLP's universe.

Changes it makes to mythology: Nightmare Moon not merely ANGRY Luna.
Elements of Harmony are the jewelry. POSSIBLY not linked to individual ponies.
A few more Everfree forest monsters, in the same style as the others.

Past Sins doesn't actually change the mythology from what the show gives us, it merely adds on in the same vein as the show has gone.
