I think everybody is best pony. They're all interesting characters, and they all are quite a bit nicer than a good chunk of humanity.

They would also be easy to get in favor with, too. Bring Twilight a good book and the two of you could snuggle up and read together. Applejack would likely be glad to reward anyone who helped her out on the farm. Feeding Dash's ego would probably be a quick way into her heart. Pinkie would just love anyone who partied with her a lot. Rarity probably wouldn't mind having someone to talk to and perhaps help her on her busy days. And of course, Fluttershy would totally dig a guy who was gentle and soft-spoken and helped her with the animals.

Despite the awesome pony I hope Luna to be, I must agree that everypony is best pony. I find that they're all pretty cool in their own, sometimes strange, ways. If I had to rank level of coolness, Twilight'd likely be high on the list.

To everyone declaring their favorite to be the best, I'd be curious to hear why.

"N is best" is not a very compelling argument. "N is best because she doesn't afraid of anything" is also not a compelling argument, but it's a lot more fun for us to read.

... Twilight is just too adorkable to not be my favourite. I'm too much of a nerd to not identify myself with her a bit.

From quite a bit earlier in the thread. She just seems like a nice person pony in general and that she shares some of my interests and quirks helps as well. All in all, pretty much the same reasons as Jacob/Lee.

Also; since "X is best pony" is probably a meme at this point, we're doing what the internet does best: perpetuating.
