Derpy hooves is my favourite pony. Angel is the best pet. I cant choose favourite from the main cast, they're all so awesome.* I like Lyra too even if she's just background pony.

   Rarity isn't really all that bad though she could lighten up a bit. Twilight is interesting though seems to switch between a pony that is always studying and one who is being girly to make up for lost time. Fluttershy is very nice and I like her. Applejack is awesome. Pinky Pie is great but a little to much like how I would be if I did parties. Rainbow Dash is of course the best of them all.

One of the very big strengths of this show is that each character has pretty well defined strengths and flaws (in fact, for most of them, their strength is their flaw; AJ's hard work can translate into overwork, for example). So yeah, saying Rarity needs to lighten up or Pinkie needs to learn when to shut up is kinda stating the obvious. Those things are half of what make these characters awesome.

And yes Dash is a jerk Not without reason though; she's no bitch. She just has a nasty fear of failure. You'll see when you watch episode 13, fall weather friends (if you haven't already), and again in episode 16 (though she seems to have matured a bit by this one).

   When I post the first impression posts I am literally watching the shows then pausing to put down my observations.
Also on Rarity, I know about the Flaw/Strength thing but for instance Applejack is not constantly overworking while with Rarity being overcritical seems to be her default state.
