I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this...
But I guess I'll just try.

So I made a game in Game Maker 8. (Too lazy to C# or Java)
And according to alot of people it turned out pretty good.

It's a gravity-based Plattformer in which you avoid death !!fun!! that may occur by quick scrolling and random levelgeneration.

It has also got a Multiplayer Mode.
For up to six players.
On one keyboard.

Have a few screenshots.

Download v1.1d (Recent)
Download v1.1c
Download v1.1b

--Controls--

Arrowkeys - Navigate the Menu
Space - Confirm
P - Player 1
Q - Player 2
M - Player 3
X - Player 4
B - Player 5
A - Player 6

Right now working on v1.2, which will have Online Mode and golden gears/screws that give extra points in Singleplayer Mode.

This looks pretty cool, gonna test now.

Ok, it's pretty fun in single player and MP looks like it could be lots of fun online, keep working on this.

This is really good!

I accidentally found a glitch though. If you press escape to go back to the the title screen just before you die, you're shown the title screen, then it flips over to the death screen and you're back in the game again.

You know those videos where some Japanese guy is playing a bullet hell Touhou game and controlling two at once? I just imagined the same thing with this, but controlling all 6 players on speed 8. Youtube scares me.

Fixed that one.
Also, we have a Highscore Challenge in an IRC and Forum I go to.
Right now, the highest score is by a user named DarkYoshi:

Some feedback after a quick play.

  • The menu really needs to respond to the enter key.
  • At higher speeds, the character's flip speed should gradually increase. Right now there's a physical limit to how fast you can go, that being the speed at which you can't clear half the screen (a fairly frequent requirement) before the wall you're trying to avoid crushes you.
  • I could've sworn I've seen this game before. I get a strong deja vu feeling from it. Something's weird here, though it's not your fault. :)
  • And good job on the game!

Cool game! I love to play hotseat games at school with friends. definitely gonna show them this.

Also, Bug report Time!
1. I tried a 6 player game and Player A&B were somehow glued to eachother. (EDIT: I just realised it's perfectly visible on your screenshot, so you may have seen this. Is it intended?)
Spoiler: screenshot (click to show/hide)
2. I can only select "Wimps" in the Challenges screen, even after I finished all "Wimps" challenges.
3. When I move OUT of the "Wimps challenges" screen, start a normal single player game and press Esc while playing the games takes me back to the "Wimps challenges" screen.

The first one is intended.
The second one is a missing feature, I didnt get around to add the other challenges yet, so yeah.
And I caught the third one allready and fixed it.

Also @ Sean Mirrsen, Invert?

The first one is intended.

But it surely isn't intended that A&B keep running fast until they are in a line with Q&X, because you have four players sitting on each other, which is... you know what I mean  :P

Also @ Sean Mirrsen, Invert?
There are a lot of games with that gravity flipping mechanic, but I've never seen the multiplayer and random generation parts done before.

Weeell, if they're beyond a certain line, they speed up a bit.
So it is intended.
I might repositionate Q and X tho.

I'm not certain if you are aware, but you might want to watch it with the name, as there is already a commercially developed game under the name of Black & White. I'm not certain if that'll create lawsuit issues or not.

Just giving you a heads up.

Compare "Black 'n' White - Gravity" to "Black & White"

That said, my game is not commercial.
The only law issues will happen if my game happens to be more awesome than Black & White.

Also, G-Switch has no bombs. Everything is better with bombs.
