For the firetruck idea, Scar doesn't know that the worm is vulnerable to water.
As said before, the sandworm in this battle (and probably most other battles) can be hurt or destroyed by conventional weaponry.

Get one of those firefighting helicopters, or even better, a group of those firefighting helicopters. Annoy it with RPG rounds and the like, and keep spraying it with water. Maybe try to electrocute the water or something.

Firetruck would not work. For one thing, you must consider the setting. This is in the middle of a desert for crying out loud. A firetruck is not exactly the most manuverable thing, and would be basically immobile in a desert. Also, recall that the vehicle has to be within reason, and how the hell is a MERCANARY going to get a fire truck from civil authorities, when it could be better used for saving lives?

Firefighting helicopter, then.

And he steals it, leaving a note that he will return it when he's done using it.
Considering Scar is friendly towards what seems to be a UN Funded Expedition Group, 2 Paramilitary Organizations and hundreds of various Stalkers plus Sidorovich, it's not entirely impossible that Scar cannot obtain a helicopter or another vehicle.

Query: Are they on Dune, or just a similarily utterly arid area?

I wonder what would happen if Scar let himself be swallowed while wearing exoskeleton armour while equipped with all sorts of artifacts. A gauss rifle would probably be quite effective, too.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

They are not on Dune, but a similar desert-like area.

How effective is this armor?
I've never played Stalker, so I don't know.

I guess 5 of the best Heat Resistant artifacts would make him healed by the Sandworms organs.

Also an Exoskeleton was basically a walking jeep, not easy to kill with bullets and quite flashy when it runs around.

I doubt he can get away with abusing an in-game exploit against the Sandworm, though.  Otherwise, I'd have to bring in Strelok and the Insta-Death Kill Everything APC-Exploding Knife Stab for the next round.

Well having 5 of the best resistant artifacts should at least do something in these battles. At least immunity.

Sandworm produces huge heat via friction.

A sandworm's innards are basically a pressure cooker of horrible sandy death.
The heat is not what kills you, it is the way the sandworm digests you.

Or at least, that is how I understand it to work.

Yes, the inside of the sandworm is lined with teeth that the Fremen use to make weapons with. They are nigh unbreakable and numerous.

Question: How heavily armed a helicopter can Scar obtain?

Considering Duty has ties with the Ukrainian Government and Scar's ability to pretty much befriend any faction in the Zone, I'd say normal Hind configuration, missiles and a chaingun.

As Scar's helicopter crosses the desert, a sandworm attacks!
Jutting from the sand, the worm is more than long enough to reach him! Scar fires the helicopter's rockets, destroying many segments of the worm, but not destroying it!
The worm plucks the 'copter from the air, but Scar ejects before being devoured! Landing on a rocky platform, Scar unloads his personal weaponry on the worm, killer several more segments!
The worm, badly injured, retreats!

Mercenary Scar wins!

Next battle: Frank Horrigan vs Minsc (and Boo)!
The battlefield is a flat, grassy plain with adjacent forest.
Both combatants may use weapons that they have used in any appearance.

Feel free to suggest any changes.
