Battle Conditions:
The battlefield is a large, run-down but heavily militarized city.
Ashot and his allies' goal is to protect the city before it is completely destroyed.
Ashot and co have access to all S.T.A.L.K.E.R. weaponry and vehicles that they would normally have.
Giga-Fortress is in air mode, there is no large bodies of water nearby.
Battle conditions may be subject to change.

So, whats to stop the giga fortress from staying out of ground AA range and using shock wave attacks to destroy the city block by block?

And do they got any AA weapons better then the ones in the real world? cause i think they would need them to destory a giga fortress.

It has limited range for the blast. I could go grab a pic of the range if you want, though i doubt that would help much without a number.

Its God's Breath greatly outranges any anti-air attack, so anti-air structures pose no threat to it. Aside from its cost, the Giga Fortress' main weakness is that, in its more deadly air mode, it can't attack air units and its God's Breath has fairly slow rate of fire, taking several moments to move all the way to distant targets along its line of fire. As a result infantry and faster vehicles can get out of the way its beam.

It seems that its range is longer then any convential AA guns that they might have. Sure it is weak to planes, but they don't have any of those, so it seems like they are unable to hurt it. (and in stalker do they ever used fixed emplacement AA guns? cause i doubt anything smaller would even be able to damage a giga fortress).

EDIT: and more importantly the giga fortress, he's just fighting a regular merchant from what i can tell. Sure he has acsess to good weapons, but not of the level necessary to bring the thing down even if it just hovered 100 feed overhead, sure mabey eventually, but not fast enough to make and difference. This conflict is so one sided, that its really a bit silly continuing this fight.
If you gave him acsess to a small army, sure, but it's just some trader, who wouldn't have access to those materials.

Not that fast. Its not too good at hitting moving targets unless they're going straight.

Ok since ashot is smart he would post easily seen AA guns around the city and giga fortress would fly up higher or go another direction which would play towards Ashot since he would have AA guns hidden in the destroyed buildings to. That combined with the mercenaries and other people with Guass Rifles and RPGs on the roof ( they would stay hidden until the AAs fire ) would assist in the bombardment. Giga Forress would retreat and Ashot would  have AAs placed the way it came in and thus Giga would have a very high chance of loss

Or, it could just fire at the easily seen AA from out of their range. And i doubt rpg's (not quite sure how powerful the gauss rifles are) would be able to do much damage to a giga fortress in any reasonable timeframe.

I know but either way Giga is still in range of the AAs in the buildings so either way you get the idea

You need to do high damage (or constant medium-high damage) to hurt it, since it has a (ludicrously slow, but constant) self-repair function.

What would stop it from just staying outside the city limits and destroying the city block by block? it would take a while (read ages), but it would guarantee victory pretty much.

You need to do high damage (or constant medium-high damage) to hurt it, since it has a (ludicrously slow, but constant) self-repair function.

And if it was losing it could probably go somewhere without any aa guns, and wait a day or two to heal back up.

And in that day Ashot would be able to get more supplies and men into the city and move the AAs around. Plus Gauss rifles can do some major damage.

So ya Giga Fortress will need to know when to turn tail and run to be able to win this
