On healing
« on: January 06, 2011, 09:36:12 am »

Hate to be a bother but does anyone know any way to mod the raw files to heal adventurers pesky mangled bits?

I know theres a way to make nerve damage heal but my Elf's mangled fingers and toes are annoying me.

Sincerely. Urist McCantdoitmyself

I believe deleting the affected part.
Loading up, saving.
and then readding the part may work.

or the hacker version is that you select your self and change your race, then travel then change back then travel again.
the only down side to this is the high chance of crashing the game from your wounds being severe(a fix to this would be slapping the ghost tag travel to remove any flags of horrible wounds change race travel change back to human travel and turn off ghost).

or just make nails heal.

[HEALING_RATE:100] Lower is faster.
add this to tissue_template_default, under
[TISSUE_TEMPLATE:NAIL_TEMPLATE]

...Wait, you can heal nerve damage?

Not without editing the raws or cheating.

And even then they won't heal, as severed parts never regenerate.

I've had plenty of nerve damage without fully losing the limb, so adding a [HEALING_RATE] tag should do it.  You're right, though, severed body parts never regenerate no matter what the healing rate is.

I've never had nerve damage, only severed nerves. I don't think they heal, as I have a 100 rate for nerves.

^Wouldn't nerves that have been severed count as "damaged"?
