Where the hell are the magma forges?!?!

I started a new fort that had magma. I mined the magma and decided to start my magma forges. When I went to the workshops area of the build menu, there was only metalsmith forge. No magma forge. I checked the smelter. Again, just a normal smelter. No magma smelter. What the hell is up with this?

Bug, I've had it happen to me, no idea how to fix it myself without either regenning a new world or abandoning and retakeing the fortress.

Ah, I've run into the problem even with magma-safe stone, hence my advice.

Yeah. You were right. All I can say is "DAMN IT!"

I had a near pefect rederation of the frist Dwarf fort starting area.

There was this bug in 40d, you might search for the thread about it, maybe the workaround will work for you.

Did you actually mine down to the magma and get the discovered the magma sea message, or did you cheat and use dfliquids?  You only get the option to make magma workshops if you got the discovered magma message.

That would do it.  Magma workshops are enabled when you get the message that you've discovered the magma sea.  You don't get them just because you spawned a bunch of magma with dfhack.

What about if you just have visable magma in the begining?

You need to actually "discover" a natural Magma deposit. :-\

(But you can edit the magma furnaces to be available at all times I believe? *see workaround mention*)
