I can't believe I missed something so obvious.
The Mythbusters are dwarves!

The Orcs(and Goblins) from Warhammer Fantasy are definetely dwarves.

link: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod840889

link to why they must be dwarves: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod840939&rootCatGameStyle=
(if you are lazy: it's a catapult shooting living goblins)

Also, Night Elves from World of Warcraft should be (obviusly) on the elven side

How about the dinosaurs from Primal Rage? They're violent, man-enslaving gore machines, but some of them are actually good... I think. Personally I think they should fall under "Demons" but Dwarves is the only choice remotely similar to that :p

Olimar and Louie? Definitely Elves, since they're so one with nature and all.

Cthulhu is a forgotten beast living in a megaproject. Dwarves.

Ok, I'll admit I was grasping at straws a little with Arthas being an elf.  And probably not remembering everything entirely accurately.  The killing of a village because they're infected loosely reminded me of killing of a village because they cut down too many trees, but there isn't much more than that.  I think I just view DF elves as more warlike, since they come to you to fight, while your dwarves stay home and defend themselves, but that doesn't really hold up in legends.

Most of the other leaders are fairly obvious.  If I had to pick one for each faction, I'd put Thrall on the Elf side(he's a shaman, nature is definitely his kinda thing). and any one of the Bronzebeards for the dwarves.

Also, Link for elves, if it hasn't been said yet, and Mario for dwarves.  It's not his fault he can't grow a beard.  His love of wealth and lack of concern for fire remind me of dwarves.  And that mustache.  People usually ignore dwarven mustaches, but they're pretty epic too.

Also skull kid Majora.
Fix'd. Skull kid did NOTHING.

So... what about that dude who builds robotic death machines and lives in a fortress in the shape of a skull?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We need a lot more Elf representatives, though. Oh, there's one.

Link an elf? That's kind of pushing it. He's not exactly dwarf material, but he's too badass to be an elf. Gorons are VERY dwarfy, though. Hell, they have electro magnets in a medieval fantasy setting. Also, lots of magma, rocks, and explosives.

How about... Baba Yaga for the elves?

She:

Lives deep in the forrest.
Likes to eat children (cannibal).
Se understands animal languages (prolly at peace with nature too).
Known as a potent spellcaster.
Most likely cannot die of old age.

PS: Link usually carreis enough bombs to start a small revolution not quite elven imo... and the fact he eats fairies.

The entire Eldar race goes with the elves.
The Overlord, all of them, seem dwarfy to me, what with the hordeing of gold and laughing as people die and all.
