Am I the only one that gets really irritated when they hear someone saying this (or something close to this) on news channels?

Protest is usually authorized. They are pretty mild comparing to union. They haven't sequestrated anyone for instance.

It's interesting though : what is a big protest in your country?
A few years ago, in Belgium, some workers were protesting against the closure of their factory. They kept the pdg in his office for a week and took hostage the stock of cars that weren't sold yet. In France things can get nasty too : angry agriculturist blocked the biggest airport for days. So ddos isn't really out of place, if a big number of poeple do it.

The LOIC really seems to be the equivalent of picketing/ occupying somewhere.  You're basically getting lots of people to use a website at the same time so other people can't use it.  I suppose you could call that terrorism, but... that would make most great protest leaders terrorists.

The journalist just abide by the will of the government. Those attack against America youth doesn't surprise me.

Anonymous is a group in the loosest sense of the term. Every Anon has a different agenda, and goes with the group or not as they please. Their "stances" are simply the points where enough of their individual agendas coincide for them to act as a "group".

When people try to tell me that anonymous is a large, sophisticated 'network' of 'terrorists,' I can't help but retort with how stupid they are to think that, and know nothing about the group itself, let alone 4chan. It's simply the media trying to feed more false information to the fools. We shouldn't even be giving them the light of day, let alone attributing the adjective 'sophisticated' to their workings.
