I must be daft, or it may be because it's 3am, but I decided that beyond a few creatures I made trainable prior to fort creation, I wanted to experiment with a few new ones.

I have removed the PET_EXOTIC tag from all creatures, as I haven't screwed with the Dungeon Master since upgrading to the new version. I have added [COMMON_DOMESTIC][PET][TRAINABLE] to Giant Cave Spiders and Bears. (Bears prior to embark, just as an example)

I can train War Bears, but not the GCS for some reason. I can find no reason as to why I'm given the "No animals" message whenever I try to send my Animal Trainer to do his job unless he's lazy, I'm a sodding idiot, or I need to gen a new world for this to take effect. It doesn't make sense to me that the tag is in the wrong place, as it's ordered the same as the other creatures I've modded for this map.

They still need the [PET] tag.

[PET] Tag is there. Everything that's been required before is in place, afaik.

got no experience on this issue, but I suggest slowly removing odd tags on the GSC and see if any of them are hardcoded to block trainable.

I remember doing the same on walruses, and they didn't even pop up in the embark list. Weird. Could've been just my own incompetence back then.

Gee, thanks. :P   Yeah. I'm basically trying to work through common modding at this point to work myself up to harder stuff.

I've done it before with the GCS and other creatures as well (werewolves), but I never used the common domestic tags. Just PET and TRAINABLE. Just be sure you're making changes to the RAW files in your save game folder.
