Offline Pirate Games

EXCLUDING ONLINE GAMES

Any good offline pirating games?

For PC:
Sid Meier's Pirates!
X3 series? Maybe?

For Consoles:
Uncharted Waters series
Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat

I dunno, are there any other good pirate games?
Not necessarily just pirating, but with the choice/ability to do so.
I'll even take space ones.

It's basically Pirates! only even better.

Right, and as for the space ones, Space Rangers 2 lets you do some pirating, in addition to being generally awesome.

Akella has a few in-depth pirate games like Age of Pirates and Age of Sail series.

Never played it, but Dubloon looks pretty good. And apparently you can do piratey things in Oolite.

They're both freeeeeee!

Think of it like Sim City, except with rival mayors that seek to destroy your citizens by arming legions of homeless people and sending them to attack you.

In Port Royale 2, you can choose to pirate.

Tropico 2 has you building a pirate base, as well as sending ships off on missions for plunder and exploration.

In Freelancer you can pirate the shipping lanes (This is a space game, though).

Those are the only ones I can think of at the moment though.

The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas offer piracy as a career choice, though it's not particularly interesting IMO. The Patrician series also seems to allow you to engage in piracy, though at a significant hit to your reputation.

In Freelancer you can pirate the shipping lanes (This is a space game, though).

You probably have more freedom to do this on multiplayer servers though. The singleplayer campaign would be trickier to complete if you piss off the local house you're in at the time. Though I suppose that's just added challenge.

X3 does have some freedom for pirates, but you'll have plot restrictions to contest with. You'd need to make friends with some races to get most of the plots done. Ultimately you'd probably be more of a rogue with shifting alliances, which could be fun in itself.
I know there are a few mods that make piracy more fun or easier to do, there's probably more where those came from. My only experience is with Terran Conflict though, I don't know how the previous games work with piracy. I assume they have as much freedom, if not more.

Can't really think of any other space ones, besides Darkstar One, which is probably similar to Freelancer in regards to piracy.

Age of Pirates 2

With mods it is almost playable without wanting to kill yourself because of the bugs and crappy interface, so "good" may be a stretch..but, it is very pirate-like and can be fun if you are in the right mood or are more tolerant than I am.

Space Piracy in Freelancer is a lot more like submarine warfare, if you ask me.

Actually, the very first Pirates of the Caribbean game was awesome. The only thing it had to do with the movie was the lore.

It's funny, (and by funny I mean strange but depressing) I wonder how many people know that this game was known as Sea Dogs 2 until one day the Sea Dogs 2 website was suddenly and mysteriously replaced by the Pirates of the Caribbean website and the Sea Dogs 2 forum completely vanished overnight.

It seems like Bethesda/Disney really got away with this one scot free.
