Key on Keyboard Not Working
« on: January 04, 2011, 03:21:50 pm »

I think there is something jammed under the 'p' key of my keyboard. Do you guys have any idea how to get it out? I have tried toothpicks and they don't seem to have helped.

Unless it's some kind of fancy-ass keyboard with unremovable keys, then just lifting it with a knife/screwdirver and a tiny bit of pressure should work.

I used to use a steak knife to clean under my keys. It scratched the keyboard a bit, but it allowed me to get EVERYTHING out without worrying about the vacuum sucking up the keys.

Big brush with bristles that are sorta medium stiff. Stiff enough to move dust and other accumulations, but pliable enough that it goes under the keys.

I'd suggest not a steak knife for this exact reason. A butter knife is better, and a finger is even better (if you can fit your finger under a key).

No! No! I will not massacre my children. Instead, I'll make them corpulent on crappy mass-produced quarry bush biscuits and questionably grown mushroom alcohol, and then send them into the military when they turn 12...

Yeah also many laptops are not made with removable keys. So be careful! You might try getting canned air next time, blasting the little bugger out. A better solution is not eating over your kybard ;)

How'd you get a 'P' in september if that was the broken one?
