(Why are we the Aztecs?

Whyyyyyyy

(Note that they killed me in single player games way to many times...))

Oh, hey... You might want to learn how to make very high walls. We tend to flood the world. With magma. We dont know why.
We do it because it's a damn well effective defense.

And because it's FUN!

It's FUN, fun, funny, effective defence, effective offence, and gods be damned, it's just plain awesome.

Truth be told, I'd prefer a world flooded with a good, stout drink...

Yeah, but there's two problems with that:
1: It doesn't come in ginormous quantities underground
2: If it could be done, one spark leads to a world in flames, and we're just as far. Actually... that would be even MORE awesome.

A Maximum sized fort should have a stockpile of 200-800 barrels of booze, in a perfect world. That's a fairly huge quantity, and if all the Forts in the area contributed some of their stockpile, it would definitely be possible to flood a good portion of the world with flaming booze. We'd just have to wait for booze to start behaving like water, rather than jelly.

Re: Keeper.

With Mr. Person stepping down, we need a new keeper. If you wish to take the roll, please say so or nominate yourself. Sheb has already placed a single nomination and vote to be a new keeper.

Votes:

Sheb 1 (Sheb)

Re: Orders
Right now the only orders I really need are the capital's orders. I'm going to produce two work boats so we can work those clams, netting us commerce for research as well as growth. Once we hit pop4 I'll start a settler.

Re: Slavery
Only tribal leaders (city managers) get booted out, and they can rejoin the queue.

Re: Sliders
The Alchemist controls the Research Slider, the Bard the Espionage Slider, and the keeper the Culture Slider. I will warn you when you go over budget, and you should defiantly be very careful with how high or low you keep each one.  During times of war, the Chief may reduce ANY of sliders as he sees fit to pay for our soldiers should we run a deficit.

Re: Dwarf Midget. I still need espionage orders. Currently I have them allocated to the Inca.

Round 8

Chief - Deus ex Machina
-Explore Coast

Keeper - Empty, Voting in progress
Worker: Build Mines
City: None (Default, Work Boat x2)

Alchemist - KaminaSquirtle
Mining>Bronze Working> Iron Working

Bard - Dwarf Midget
No Espionage Orders. Allocated EPs towards Inca

Turn 82
We discover Mining. Work is Immediately begun on a mine. Next up is Bronze Working.

Turn 83
Boatmurdered finishes a warrior, begins work on a work boat. When we hit size 4 I will auto-queue a Settler if a new keeper is not elected by then.

I gave this warrior Woodsmen I since I plan to use him as a fogbuster. Deus, what promotion would you prefer our units created at places with barracks start with? We already start with Strength I thanks to aggressive.

Burn 84
Boatmurdered grew to size 3

Turn 92
Our worker finished his mine. Since we can't do any more work I moved him 1S of the capital to chop and build a mine there after BW.

Turn 95
Boatmurdered finishes work on a work boat. We now have +1 health, and a 4f2g tile. Construction of another fishing boat begins.

Turn 99
Our fogbuster killed several animals and earned his second promotion. I gave him Woodsman 2. I'm thinking we might name him Bembul and eventually merge him with a great general or something silly like that >:) (That was a joke. However, I've recently discovered the awesomeness that is a warlord led unit. They are scary.)

Just a FYI, woodsmanIII gives him +15% healing to allies in his stack, +75% bonus to strength on defense in forest, and +50% bonus to strength when attacking forest.

A quick overview of the coast we explored. (Sorry, the scout got slowed down south by a pair of wolves)

Boatmurdered

Before turn 101

WHAT SORT OF LIST IS THIS? THEY DIDN'T EVEN GRADE US ON THE QUALITY OF OUR VOMIT-COVERED STAIRS! THE NERVE!

Truth be told I did not know about espionage until now.

...yeah. Just spy on the Inca.

My apologies, it's a feature introduced in Beyond the Sword.

Espionage Points (Shorthand, EPs) are generated by certain buildings and specialists in our cities, much like research. These points allow us to learn information about our rivals we normally wouldn't, such as what techs they are researching and what units they are building. Eventually we can get a unit (called the Spy) which allows us to undertake missions in enemy territory to sabotage equipment or steal from them. (Missions cost EPs to do, and have a risk of the spy getting caught and lost)

Once we get Code of Laws we will start getting a number of EPs from courthouses, jails, etc. That's when it really gets busy. But even now a little focus can give us vital data... such as what our current enemy is studying.

I'd like to run for keeper. If I'm good at anything in Civ it's probably determining good city spots. Speaking of which, having our entire world map would be kinda awesome so I could give suggestions for spots right now.

I've been regularly posting the world map along with each update. When a settler is less than a turn from completion I will also provide a dotmap to anyone who asks. If you will a new resource visible when the settler is produced that you can't see before the turn, I will also include that on the map. (Example. OOTS has Bronze Working and a Settler coming out this turn. Since they'll have BW before the settler, their dotmap will show copper as well.)

If it is a 10% chance to loose the city leader on a whip then after 5 or so whips you are nearly guaranteed a revolt.

Nah; it's a 59% chance for no revolt after 5 whips; then it's 53%, 48%, 43%... may not make sense to you, but that's the numbers.
