Woah.  Looks like shit just got real.  Luckily, it looks like we have an experience advantage.  Looking at their threads, I don't think there are any other mon/emp players around other than Jamini and I, so we have an advantage there.

Onto the game:
[REMOVED-TOP SECRET]
PMs have been sent to the other leaders.  If you are not one of these and would like to get this PMed to you, just ask.
This was done to prevent strategies to be read by our enemies.  I don't want them getting any ideas from me.

They started on a roughly equal footing to you, with difficulty tweaked to their experience levels.
Is this why our start sucks so bad?  Sorry if that was my fault, guys.

From the webcomic Order of the Stick. These guys have experience and quite a few civ fanatics on their forums. You have just met them and their bard, CarpeGuitarrem.
GOG DAMNIT!  We might not be able to take these guys easily.

They have elephants and a better start than you did. Beware, be very beware.
Elephants are no use if you don't know how to use them. :P  Too many hills and not enough food for my taste. 8)

Scouting the other boards now.

Well, forget what I said about being a keeper. Kamina just stunned me with so much babble I had to give in.  :P

ROCK O--aah....ah...hi. I guess this is the place? *dusts off chainmail* You may want to look into the engineering, I could've sworn there weren't giant lava pools out there five minutes ago. Is that sort of thing normal for this place?

Er, yeah. I'm the Bard with the Beard. Hi guys.  8)

Awesome intro!

The lava is completely normal.  It is the standard Dwarven greeting for...guests.

And Nobles. And Nobles Guests in particular. What do you think of our plan to chop off Goblin's heads?

Ah, well, that would be a good explanation for it. In that case, I feel very...welcomed.

The goblin plan sounds interesting, and we're always looking to grind our war-axe, but as of yet, we have no idea where these gob-thingies might be. Indeed, our alchemists have only obtained the smallest of scrying capabilities regarding them. For the moment, perhaps there are graver things to address.

They might be nice goblins, too. ;)

At any rate, diplomacy can sometimes be better reserved for more...shrouded methods.

(i.e. I'm also up to taking PM discussion.)

By virtue of being a host, I must be neutral. So please don't count me in that regard. :)

I think Donnigan from Goblins may be at least Prince level, and Winthur from OOTS is Emp for sure.

Naw, your start just really sucked. I decided at the start I would not be regenerating this world.

You might consider trading with them when the opprotunity arrives. They have a metric ton of elephants.

Also, Macemen-level units as early as construction are always nasty. The only downside is they take a while to produce. AI leaders love them too and normally give pretty good trades to get them.

I am reviewing all threads now and compiling a list of current and standing orders. If you have anything in particular feel free to post or PM.

Greetings, bard!  I hope we can enjoy a mutually profitable relationship!  I am Lord KaminaSquirtle, alchemist of this land.  Please ignore any explosions coming from around my lab-
DWARF!  I TOLD YOU NOT TO MESS WITH THE POTASSIUM!  NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!
Sorry about that.   Anyway, I'm quite busy, good day.  Lots of research to do...

Yep, I'm not counting you, I just felt the need to include you.  But yeah, the folks over at OotS seem good.  I guess I hadn't looked closely enough.

The goblins....
Stinks they're so far away.  (Look at their minimap, they're pretty obviously on another continent.)

Aw well, we'll deal with what we're given.

Yeah, but it looks as if they're on another continent.  War 'phants will probably be obsolete by the time we meet them.  We'll see.

Oh, I'm not denying they're great, I mean they even come with catapults.  You just have to be good to use them effectively.  You have to move before the enemy gets longbowmen, or you're going to have a tough time of it.  And if they have pikes...

I'll leave my orders at Mining>BW>IW.

A few more things:

In the meantime, can we get a keeper?  I don't want to end the round without some things being ordered.

Also, who controls the espionage/sliders?

Seriously?  Can we Aztecs somehow get this waved?  I think we'll run out of leaders with the path we're going.  A limitation like this on the Aztecs is pretty big.  We only have so many people willing to play.

If I knew this were multi, I would've chosen a more OP civ, such as Rome.  Though, that would have felt like cheating. :P

Anyway, I'd like to make sure of a few things before the round ends.

Edit:  Oh, and for our friend smuchmuch over at the OotS forum, it's too late to edit that conversation away.  I've already seen it.  Thanks for reminding me about allocating espionage. :P

Standard intelligence procedure and whatnot. Don't be alarmed by the ninja vikings...

What?  ;)

:o  Now I have to follow three threds! Damn you! >.> It's bad enough I can't decide which I like most, Goblins, OOTS, or DF. So what the hell am I? A stick-figure goblin who steals dwarves babies? !!! I shall be the ambassitor to all three sides! I can join the other forums shortly if I'm allowed to do this.
Also, please no false information or not shareing things on the thread, it kinda ruins it for people who just want to watch, or who suck at the game so don't want to join and mess it up.

I've always found Catapults alone to be more than enough to handle longbows, with swordsmen with Raider promotions ready to clean up once the defending stack is down to its last few hits. Catas cost pretty much the same as longbows, and when attacking a stack of 2-6 units they do far FAR more damage than a single longbow could hope for. Normally I promote a the first few that survive and use them last in the stack, while fresh pults pound down defenders for my swords and axes to grind up. War elephants are just icing when it comes to medieval warfar. (Trebs can be nasty too if you don't have enough infrastructure to spam catas.)

Good to see you here, CarpeGuitarrem! We welcome you into our mointain homes with open arms. Please; have some kitten steak. Now, onto diplomacy...

Seeing how close our civs are, and that losing one of the human civs early would be a big loss for the game, I think our forums should cooperate. It would be beneficial to all of us.

Quite so, particularly when our mutual cunning can be so much better used against the wiles of these silicon beings...what they call them...the "ai"? Strange name, if you ask me.

We do it because it's a damn well effective defense.
