Could someone make a mythos Language raw? there are alot of words to change and I would prefer to focus my efforts on the creatures and entities right now

I don't think that I'm up to that task, but I can put together a lovecraftian custom language symbol set (as per the entires in the language_SYM raw). I'll hopefully have it for you later tonight...

Ok, put these in your language_SYM file:

and this in your language_words file

and one or both of these lines in the applicable entity files

...and then fill in the T_WORDs for the translation files yourself... (I can't do everything for you, and django is already doing that part anyway (IIRC)...)

EDIT: Almost left out "Squamous"...

My best advice to you: Make it only Humans and Mythos creatures.
Why?
To stay in alignment with Lovecrafts vision.

Have fun!

Working on T_WORDS from what was posted by Bo and the original words. Should take me a day or so. Words I can't find in R'lyehian I will make sound close to it. (EX:Ape=hup'dh from hupadgh-born of)

The huaman word file (which i'm using as a base not counting the words being added) already sounds a little bit like cult language If i just throw in some apostrophes.

Yog-Sothoth is blatantly a hindu deity called Vishnu. Aside from the Lovecraftian dose of good ol' cosmic horror, if you actually follow the whole dream cycle (which is basically the epilogue to the mythos, as far as I'm concerned) you find out that all the intellectuals, the dreamers and the poets are bored aspects of Yog-Sothoth, who forgets who he is and lives lives because he's bored. It was all pretty much ripped verbatim out of hindu myths, which goes to show how absurdly educated Lovecraft was more then a half-century before any -concept- of the internet. Hell, most people alive now wouldn't know the stuff he knew.

Personally, I always thought Yog-Sothoth to be based at least in part on the God of the old testament, based on the similarity of the name "Yog-Sothoth" to the Hebrew phrase "YHVH-Sabaoth" (generally translated in most bibles as "The LORD of Hosts")

My point is also further supported by the fact that Dagon is also a member of the Cthulhu mythos.

(P.S. On a related note, in the unlikely case that anybody out there has studied Philistine, Akkadian, or Ugaritic you could probably provide additional assistance with custom languages.)

Honestly, if you don't mind, if I ever get the free time, after your done, I might make a 'toned down' version where some of the stuff is imported into the regular, more streamlined Dwarf Fortress game, for those just wanting a Lovecraft flavor. I don't really know if I have the time or the skill, but it might be worthwhile as a companion mod. If you don't mind.

I can edit it where needed but this is a rough (let me emphasize ROUGH) list. As we progress farther I'll make it better. I'll have to post it in two parts because of the word count or do you want me to upload the file?

Furthermore, I recently found out that  "Shub" is a Hebrew word meaning "to turn back"...
