And suddenly they swarm my ComStar thread on the forums (was posting from my friends' account) and start claiming that I was part of SD. I mean, really?
[...]
What I'm saying is, if you don't like the idea then just say so. Give suggestions, prove your points with evidence, and if you don't want to/can't do any of that, just GTFO.

I'm not really sure what your goals are here. They might be compatible with ours but maybe you should better explain what you're up to. You can contact me and maybe something can be worked out.
I sent you a PM.

Okay... Your idea is bad. I don't like it.

Certain points are rather ridiculous:
What is the point in announcing a surprise attack a minute in advance ?
Does anyone reload the forum every 30 seconds ?
How do you want to check if the attackers waited for a minute anyway ?
Answer to the 3 above: basically, they need to acknowledge that they are fighting a war. the "one minute" thing was so that folks don't forget.

Why should I allow you to plant a city in nearly all of my systems on a planet capable of producing hydrogen just so you can waste the planet's station 'slot' ?
What? That's not what I meant at all. It's just a floating ship shaped like a sphere in space in a sector. This is basically just a large, free-floating ship with 0 velocity.

What do you think is the point of such a station anyway ?
It's basically a reminder and berth-a-port hub for diplomacy face-to-face. Also can have hangars for incoming and outgoing craft.

You will need officers for them to be even remotely dangerous to anything. (Officers you won't get from me yeah I got that ;))  You're far better of with a fleet.
We will also have a fleet.

I'd suggest that you explain your goals better and restate your mission into something that is actually possible.
basically, we want to ...
*ninja*
see my reply to this:
You need a solid power base and a reasonable number of human players and officers before most people will pay attention to things like that, Tolyk. I personally find a galaxy with some conflict to be more interesting than one with enforced peace, but I won't say you shouldn't pursue your idea. But you do need to build up before you make proclamations like the one on the SoH boards, if you want anyone to pay you any attention (other than trolls, of course).
It's a sandbox game, so play it how you see fit. Just a bit of advice from someone who tried to stand up too fast and lost a chunk of head for it.
thanks.
this isn't a "persuit for peace", it's more "controlled war" in a sense.
Kinda like the UN.
Also, kinda like the UN, we will not only have our own forces but also those of allies. We already have some. I think no one realizes this even though I have said it no less than 3 times.

if you're interested, just PM me here on the Bay12 forums (or on Hazeron forums...)

Okay... I don't get it.

What will be different from now, should you be able to actually do this ?
There is no pressing need for a neutral berth-a-port hub. ( And if there was, two or three would be enough)

Tolyk. I personally find a galaxy with some conflict to be more interesting than one with enforced peace
This.

RL UN is mostly about preventing war by applying rules to it. This game is rather different from real life. I don't see much point in additional rules. (Maybe you should mention in which situations you would send your fleet out...)

What exactly should be controlled more, except for special cases involving new players ?

He's going about it all wrong in any case. You don't go I AM A NEW TL1 EMPIRE. YOU WILL ALL NOW OBEY THESE RULES OF WARFARE AND LET ME BE THE PO-LICE AND BUILD STATIONS IN YOUR SECTORS.

So since you all already know I'm watching this thread, let me clarify a few things.

Despite what certain... people within my empire may say, we are not out to attack weaker empires. We had motives for attacking SD. SD was completely inactive, nobody should've cared in the first place. Indeed had it not been PTMC I doubt anyone would've cared. We've never attacked anyone without motivation of some sort, nor do we intend to.

We also are not a security force despite what Zero may think. We tried that last round. It didn't work.

I am not in control of the forums, and even when I was I allowed fair and open discussion of diplomacy, and take offense to any insinuations otherwise.

It's still several weeks of work. People had real life stuff to deal with, some lost interest but people were starting to come back. The thing is, nobody else but you would have done this. Tymas and The Foundation have stated that they would not have attacked us.

If my empire was totally inactive for weeks on end, I would expect it to be gone when I got back. It's how the internet works. Deal with it.

Starting to come back? And immediately being told that Starborn is dead and they should start a new empire. Why the sudden change of heart? The foundation don't even count as an empire, they're a bunch of carebears hugging each other for protection. Tymas has no need to because they already double our size.

I will translate this, so people don't waste any more time whining about it.

"I'm an ass, the internetz is a good safe place for me to exert my assness."

Now I hope SD will move on and do other stuff or whatever. It's not like being an ass and attacking an empire instead of colonizing stuff is illegal in the game, he didn't do anything wrong despise how silly his (or their) excuses are.

It's not being an ass if nobody is around to care. I do it because it's an easy way to expand my empire, and (hopefully) nobody cares because they're inactive.

And you guys whine about PTMC being trolls... Read your own forums once in a while.

Right-o.

If saying "It's how the internet works. Deal with it." is not being an ass, then I fear for your friends. I live in a country where I could easily kill someone who bothers me and with a 70% ratio of unsolved murders in the last year, get away with it very very freely. Just because I can, doesn't mean I will. The internet allows me to be just as much of an ass and give just as such an stupid excuse for my actions as you did, but it doesn't mean I will. Of course, it doesn't make it any less true, the internet is full of inconsequential jerks who take opportunity of anything, in and out of games.

What I'm tired of is reading SD whining in and out of the game along with silly excuses from PTMC, so I thank you for saying you're just taking an opportunity and hope everyone will just move on, since it's part of the damn game.

Diplomacy and politics are also part of the game or at least a fun part that a community can add. People dislike it when a big military-focused empire comes along and starts conquering other empires. Rumours about said empire being expansionist and eating little empires fuels this dislike and tension.

This may not have made sense. I should probably sleep.
