Someone seriously should do something. They seem to be the biggest military power and what happens when they spit out another couple excuses? What happens if they manage to destroy Tymas and stop The Foundation solidifying? Who will defend the fledgeling empires? Without anybody to stop them, the PTMC could do anything they want.

I think that Tymas, The foundation and perhaps the UCR should form some sort of Mutual defence pact against the PTMC.

I, for one, play the long game.

PTMC seems to think they still own the forums, and they talk big. I have an idea that Tymas would probably kick their ass in an actual war, and they speak softly for the amount of power they have. I also have no idea what would happen if the Foundation got into a war with one of those two powers.

I don't think the UCR is open to mutual defense pacts, unless something has changed in the past few weeks.

I heard that the foundation still have a lot of work to do, which I'm assuming means figuring out internal policy and a good way to bring forces together without becoming a singular empire rather than an alliance.

I might be interested in a resistance effort against PTMC. I don't, however, want them rolling right over my meager territories.

As it is, I hardly have the time to manage that territory. If I did have the time, I'd be able to set up a pretty decent self-sustaining spaceship industry on my ringworld.

I could make an alt, plus berthaport over some tech(at the moment, I've got three fully running universities and still making a lot of tax money). I've got TL₁₀[REDACTED] or thereabouts but I can't manufacture it yet due to poor minerals. I dunno what PTMC's ships' levels are though.

It'd be interesting to set up a coalition of our smaller B12 empires at some point, like we did pre-reset. Except I think everyone lost interest back then.

Why wont new Empire be able to fight back?
All tech can be purchased or "traded".
Only thing we might lack is people.

Lacking people/officers is actually a fairly big issue. So is not having the infrastructure for high TL ships (unless you're just lucky). Now, if you can get enough officers, and can get the nice materials, then it's far less of an issue.

PTMC is hardly the largest empire. Not that actual physical holdings matter all that much past a certain point anyways. It starts to just get tedious to manage. They are louder than a lot of other empires though.

(Well technically it would be my empire with my friends, but the main purpose of it, just like in the BTU, is to keep things fair and organized. Here's an article on ComStar from the Battletech wiki.

The problem is that we can't control com stations in-game as ComStar does in the BTU

Your empire would eventually decay and then you would be mad at the game, I'd bet.

You had this coming for a long time. We were getting ready this entire time and you happened to lose interest in your empire. We, on the otherhand, continued to work. Not a single one of you has been online for a week or two and your happy buildings or other empires touring your sectors that you supposidly completely controlled or your officers kept all of your cities alive.

And you did nothing to the other empires that were starting up in your sectors (not to mention the ones who are in your sectors RIGHT NOW including Tymas) and you went straight for us. You immediately thought "forward base" while we said "no." We would never have attacked you in any way.

Now Tymas is out there with 3 systems and 2 of your sectors via an empire that decided to join them. I was actually expecting a thread aimed at them some time ago, but obviously it never came because you were inactive.

You created your own threat by attacking us. The least you can do is to keep your mouth shut about Tymas being out there now, eh?

Oh come on. Can't even get your "who's who" right. Who picked you to be the advocate? Where's your leader? Maybe he doesn't even care anymore which reflects how he went inactive.



Ok, let's get the guest list straight in your (now inactive) sectors over there.

Tymas is invited because you guys are apparantly friends.

Random neutral empires are also now invited eventhough Paul said in the old thread that he had plans to relocate them.

Another random neutral empire starts out there, joins another random neutral empire back in the core (PTMC), and gets labled as a "forward base."

Ok, let's see Doc. Let's try a little social experiment together. Let's collaborate. We shall remain neutral up until the point where I go capture one of your cities. Then I'll ask what you would do at that point.

My hypothesis for this experiment would be that you would then initiate a counter-attack.

And yes, your brilliant plan at giving some of those empires already rooted in there a new home is coming a long splendedly. I would have never come up with such an original plan. I do not think that I can fully grasp its intricuit details and thouroughness, but I think that I will try to break down what has happened so far. Correct me if I am wrong.

1. You say that you are going to relocate everyone.

2. Nothing happens for a couple of months.

3. Starborn begins to go inactive.

4. Your number one representitive, your leader, decides not to play anymore like you said.

5. You come on months later here and say that you will eventually relocate them. Apparantly without your leader.

    That was a dick fucking move. Yes, the people from B12 know about it and are very pissed. Expect retaliation from someone, somewhere. Not necessarily B12.

all im hearing is, inactive empire taking up space, bay 12 doesnt care enough to come dig themselevs out, ergo landgrab time.

if your all inac, why let the space go to waste? it woudl be a Dik move for us to attack if you where all active, but ur not.

It's fun feeding the you know whats because I keep ramming them into corners and shooting down every point they try to make. Fighting with facts, truth, and simplicity is fun.

Considering WAAY back when SD took over NA when I settled it, I have had quite a score to settle with them ever since. Hearing x2y bitch and moan whilst trying to paint us as the bad guys is music to my ears. Sweet, sweet troll tears.

I don't care how you try to reason us into the villains. I don't care that you think it was a dick move to take over your empire when you were inactive. We're taking your empire. If you don't like it, stop us. If you don't have the ability to do so because your members have been inactive, tough shit. If that's the case, please, by all means, keep whining. I love it.

love how even before this, bay12 people were recommending new recruits to make their own empires. Clearly nobody has any interest in SD other than the fact that PTMC took it over.
