I've logged in and done stuff a few times in the past few days, but every time it's been horrifically laggy. So bad that it's difficult to walk around or use ladders, and ladders are lag-resistant (compared to doorways and removed walls which you bounce off of)...

Yeah.  Haxus asked us if we wanted him to do another server reset, though it'd be great if this horrible lag actually led to him finding a way to avoid it.

Resets fix lag, but only temporarily. I'll deal with lag (it's no worse than last round after all) if it leads him to fixing it. I think I'd rather see the new toys this Thursday though, they're more tangible

hi I found this awesome game from the "how did you last die" thread. (irony!)

I've already downloaded the game, installing it, reading FAQ and other stuff on their site.

what do you suggest I do? (I want to join the bay12 empire probably)

Servers are down for the moment but I'd suggest trying to start up an empire once they're up. The Bay12 empire is fairly inactive now and I found that it's easier to learn the game by starting your own. You can create another character and join another empire if you don't want to carry on with your own. Use this manual, it's fairly up to date.

I would also suggest starting your own empire instead of joining someone else. The game is overwhelming enough as it is without having to deal with other people running around and learning how to navigate someone else's city.

it seems the servers have gone back up for some.
a friend's making an empire for us but I can't connect for some reason.

Servers are down. It'll say whether they're online or not in the server status area on the website.
