Merchants arrive with nothing to trade
« on: December 15, 2007, 09:21:00 am »

The human traders arrive, and they have nothing to trade. The wagons bypassed my site--presumably because I have doors on my fort.

I should add that this is in 33f on a map started in an earlier version, I think 33d.

I can confirm this bug. It looks like mules aren't bringing anything, even those who are not attached to wagons.

I just ran a bunch of caravans, and I had the animal empty 1 out of 6 times.  Not sure what's going on.  Seems like it'll be a major annoyance, but at least they were mostly working.

Toady- what happens if there is no access for wagons? Don't they send in the mules that would pull them?
The problem is probably that, with the new feature, the mules they used to send have no merchandise on them.

I got this, too. The fortress I'm playing is in 33f and started in 33c. Human caravan, wagons couldn't access.

Started in 33f; I had my drawbridge up when the Humans did their check for accessibility, so the wagons passed me by. Nothing on the mules.

Teaches me for being secure against sieges, eh?  ;)

I've noticed that .33f merchants don't bring animals anymore. Just empty cages.

Same here, started in 33f. I'm not sure why this is.. I know that the wagons passed me by once due to lack of accessibility, but soon after another caravan followed (empty). Perhaps it was the same one. Too bad my masterpieces won't be traded now.

I've had animals, but i admit it seems to be rarer than before.

this happened to me as well, but I assumed it was because I dropped a cliff on the wagons and made them run away.  Only the non-wagon guys stopped at the depot and they had nothing.
