Miasma from river?
« on: December 14, 2006, 02:55:00 pm »

So I'm experiencing recurring Miasma from a river square near the bridge over the river.  I'm not seeing anything with the "k" command that could be causing it.

I did have an insane dwarf fall in the river and drown not too far from there, could it be from his rotting body bubbling up?

The other possibility that I can think of is that the source seems centered on the spot where I trapped a cave lobster.  In which case it might be bug 112.  I didn't see the lobster die from air, but the trap got put on the animal stockpile and I set the kitchen to cook him.  I don't know if it did get cooked or not, the trap is now empty.  And since the trap was placed on the river itself, I guess I wouldn't necessarily see the rotting body, would I?

I suppose that means two things.  One is that I need to place lobster traps further away from the bridge.  And two is that I need to release live lobsters into a pond until the cooks get to them instead of just leaving them on the animal stockpile?

It could be related to Bug 112.  I don't remember if cooks are smart enough to use lobsters from ponds.  Perhaps someone has more recent experience with this.

Yeah, I've seen the same thing.  It's bug 112.  I couldn't even prevent it by building a bridge over the spot where the trap was before the lobster died.
