It's not really a message, but for a long time, I never used to name my forts myself.  I always used to let the random name generation do its thing.  That came to an end one day when I embarked to start a new fort on a basically perfect area (all the different goodies: sand, flux, magma, trees, cave river, chasm, terrifying, etc) to find to my dismay that the name of my fort was "Burninganus the Muscular Tunnel".

I abandoned without a second thought.

When I was adventuring as a female human lasher, and was quested to kill a ettin, which took me a week in-game time to finally find the bastard, a raccon getting strangled by it led my lasher to him.

Anyway, every time I went down for a snooze my companions always seemed to be standing ontop of me. For what reason? Maybe they wanted to watch my adventurer sleep or something else we can't go into.

My male axe-lord kills his girlfriend the female axe-lord in a sparring accident.

Second.
I receive a boring artifact door, granite decorated with granite and granite. However, I have two dozen engravings of this door throughout my fortress. Looks like Wile E. Coyote took up interior decorating.
I also have a couple engravings of the previously mentioned sparring accident.

Not a message as such, but I once had a miner, her children and her pets being chased by a frog demon in a fortress hub with lots of doors, resulting in a Scooby-Doo moment.

Why is this hilarious? He died of dehydration on top of the barrel of booze he was drinking from. Extra bonus points, they left his corpse to rot to bone on top of the booze in the stockpile, other dwarves coming along to drink from it despite his body lying atop it and stinking up the fortress.

I prefer my epic wrestler who died of thirst about twenty feet away from the stockpile. His sparring partner immediately headed over; being dehydrated and starving. Apparently the wrestling match went on a mite too long.

What happened? I really don't know. They all appeared at the same time. When I went over there, I saw the dead body at the river next to my captain of the guard. I can only assume a fish got away, causing him to go nuts and immediately get a hammer to the face.
