Well, it'd make us no different to the TV shows and newspapers that do recaps of the year.

Good: My son was born.
Bad: My grandfather (for whom my son is named) passed away seven months later, which was akin to losing my father since he raised me from the age of 5.

I'm glad he had that seven months to enjoy his great-grandson, but it's sad that my son won't remember his namesake.

That's quite the record breaker, both my granddads are dead, one at died at age 40 or so, the other at 60.

At the end of 2010 I discovered the greatest post of 2009.

On the note of grandparents, two of my five (through remarriage) are still alive and in their... I think late 70s? My great-grandmother lived to 97 or 98 though.

Good: Yumi finally twigged that I was in love with her and we got together.
         My daughter turned one.
Bad: Kicked out of several homes.
        Yumi was nearly killed in a dissident bombing.
        My adoptive parents repeatedly trying to get in contact with me.
        Plenty of other unimportant crap.

I turned my life around last year. Started lifting weights, studying religious texts, doing a lot of thinking.

And I discovered Dwarf Fortress.

Although I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be a crappy year.
