Hey all. Been tryin to play the new DF2010 (used to play 40d ) but everytime I build a world, pick a site and embark everything is covered in snow and the rivers and lakes are frozen. This happens even if the site I embark on is temperate, hot, warm; doesn't matter. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

Yes, but I'm still learning and that would take forever. Also, I don't understand why there would be snow on the ground in a hot climate?

It's a bug, embark with some extra booze and hunker down until the thawing, you should be fine.

When you gen a world, increase the minimum temperature as well.  You'll still have an ice cap, but hopefully the areas labelled "hot" will be hotter.

Yeah it should melt. The snow doesn't have any negative effects. The ice doesn't pose a huge problem but it can be annoying. I like to embark in that freeze in some seasons, I find it an ice change.
