Cat in my car Engine!?
« on: December 31, 2010, 12:45:14 pm »

Exactly what the title says.

It is cold outside and some cat is cuddling up in the engine of my car. I imagine the engine is relatively warm even after cooling off. Frankly, this cat is lucky I was checking fluids, etc. If I'd have started my car it'd probably be dead or worse (yes worse than death = mangled by car engine)....

The damn thing won't get out and hisses at me when I move towards touching it. It then moves around in the engine compartment. It dropped to the ground once but then hopped right back up. I got some canned tuna to coax it out; no dice. Animal control is not being helpful; it will take them 2 hours to respond, minimum. Frankly, it is new years eve and I bet that has something to do with it....

I need this cat gone. Ideas?

This happened with my mom once. However the cat was shredded. We never talked about it to our neighbors.

Anyway, just wear a tough sweater and some tough gloves, take it out and chuck it as far away as possible, then run back in your house or not. As an alternative, or get a blunt tree branch and annoy it enough.

Actually, here's a few more things. Honk the horn. Or bring the hood up then drop it. Should scare the cat.

Yeah, use a hose or a bucket of water. That will get the cat moving immediately.

Just be glad it's not a possum. You could stab/shoot/light them on fire and they'd just lay there. I'm pretty sure if you started your engine, it would still lay there and get shredded, trying to convince your car it's already dead.

Get a garbage can lid and stick, bang it the latter on the former, or do something else to make loud noise.

Cats are usually easy to scare, just scare the damn thing to make it move, or find something warmer to attract it more.

Get some gloves and keep it. You must rip it out and pamper it for the rest of your life.

Grab a wire hanger unbend it and straighten it out and poke the damn thing out.
