Boogymen..more like Boogypansies
« on: December 31, 2010, 10:11:36 am »

That's what my Legendary Swordsman adventurer would call them...
I just happen to go on a killing spree this night.
Most of them being one shot kills.

All the time, they fall like cave wheat to my axe/sword/mace/sack of gold coins/boot/fist/stiff wind.

I think I might know why you were killing them so easily.

I once experienced a glitch wherein boogeymen came after my while I was sleeping in a fort with two companions. THEY WERE KILLING EVERYONE! I only survived by running into a nearby tower, and when I came back out in the morning, no corpses of soldiers, no piles of blood and vomit, just a bunch of soldiers who apparently didn't notice everyone getting kicked to death.

My demigods tend to slaughter dozens of them... then get punched in the chest and suffocate. Sooner or later it will happen.  :P

Aren't bogeymen pretty small?

I've also heard that a given world has a limited number of bogeyman decided at world gen. Has anyone managed to kill all theirs?

EDIT: No wait, I think that was night creatures.

Bogeymen are randomly generated and it's the types of Night Creatures that are limited, not the number... At least I don't think it is.

Dwarf!  Indeed, a devious delight fond of drink and industry deceived as both do-gooder and devil by the delusions of deities.  This demander, no daft demeanor, is a driving force of the deadly diocese, now disappointed, delirious from goblin deception.  However, this delicious derangement of a demolished diamond stands determined!

One time, as i ran from bogeymen, i passed some silkworm spider webs. The bogeymen got caught in them and i could one hit them all easily.
The hard part is just to actually hit them. And caught in webs they can't evade hit's.

I've successfully killed one Bogeyman, ever. Threw a copper arrow at one from hiding, and by some miracle it took the thing through the heart. It managed to bleed to death before they found me and stomped a trench in my ass.

I once had a night kin lasher who just tore through the boogies. . . Until his arm got ripped off. So any way I keep on fighting them, and they rip off his left arm. This was followed by six days of walking back to civilization, by the time I reached safety he was a legendary biter.
