Limb Regeneration

It was recently removed as a bug. However, I think that limb regeneration may be a feasible sight (rarely) when Pollution Controls are Arch-Conservative. As would other growths and mutant-type things. After all, if I'm eating radioactive waste and am not dying, I should probably be at least mutating.

That actually sounds like a good idea, even better if you just make it generation because radioactivity would be mostly random. Plus it sorta is fitting to become an abomination in a political game.

That does sound like a good idea, but it should only happen for mutants. Would make someone think twice about keeping that low-stat mutant instead of just kicking him to the curb immediately.

(There is a story behind this. . .)

This is an Alder Omelette. All craftsdwarfship is of highest quality. It is encircled with bands of cheese. It menaces with spikes of bacon, ham, and peppers. On the object is an image of dwarves in egg white. The dwarves are eating.

In the greatest Roguelike tradition, in the nuclear plant there could be a coolant fountain that can be drunk from for various effects:

* Heal all damage
* Stat morphing
* Water demon, may grant wish
* Et cetera

Coolant? That stuff is plain poison. It takes only a few ounces to kill you.

You know, sometimes you gotta believe it won't hurt so you get to have fancy effects. ^___^

It's the equivalent of getting powers from bleach. Except more far fetched.

It's a satirical poke at Roguelike fountains. I don't think it should be added, really, unless someone considers it good political satire. I'm too tired to see the difference right now.

Why not add prosthetics? Hell, maybe even plastic surgery?
If a limb gets damaged enough and you don't have enough money for proper medical care, it gets the blue light special: amputation.

You can buy a prosthetic after losing a limb, which will restore some functionality of that limb back i.e. you won't be able to pick locks with prosthetic fingers but you can at least leverage a rifle. Better prosthetics give more bonuses (or at least lessen the penalty). Maybe add a Heart hit in order to compensate.

Treatment and prosthetics cost more depending on how conservative the healthcare issue is.

We really need certain forms of plastic surgery. There's no reason why a guy with his teeth knocked out needs to go his entire life like that in LCS, for instance.

Well, considering dentures are both common and relatively inexpensive, I don't see why not.

Well don't forget that real life limb regeneration is a projected "Not so distant future" technology (as well some body parts like ears can already be restored)

Since this game can actually get to the future. I suggest that hospitals of the future should have it available for a price.

I doubt this is true unless they're just constructing a sort of artificial cartilage (or other) scaffolding and growing skin on top of it, in the rough shape of an actual ear. That's sort of a different thing entirely.

At any rate, things like missing eyes, noses, teeth, etc. should definitely be treatable with varying degrees of surgery, perhaps with varying success rates. Obviously, replacing your nose should cost more than getting fake teeth. Even if it's mostly just an option for a really really rich squad, that would be nice.

No they can use real cartilage right now, it is just really really expencive and risky. Esoteric technology is pretty amazing. Heck they probably can currently reconstruct a nose as long as there is some remaining parts of it.

One aspect of fake visable parts could be appearance.

I saw this one makeover show that for some reason included cosmetic surgery. This guy who I can only describe as a biker had REALLY bad teeth so he had to have most of them replaced with artificial ones. Sure he had a "perfect" smile but it actually looked quite bad. There just was something not right with his smile.

While limb regeneration as a bug in previous versions certainly made sense, given the scope of the game (through the power of Heart, she has reformed!), I certainly disapprove of these "prosthetics" and "surgery" things to fix ailments inflicted upon Liberals. Why? Because it seems so Conservative. Show your scars from The Menace with pride, for they reveal how much of a difference you've made in your activism. If you all want to pretend to be the oppressive CCS, then, by all means, have fun with your Heartless limbs of plastic and malice; I'll settle for killing you with flesh and blood.
