That's awsome.

On a side note inspired by one of the captions for one of the photos, anyone else think Toady should implement seasonal cavern flooding for some caverns in DF?

Think of it like Sim City, except with rival mayors that seek to destroy your citizens by arming legions of homeless people and sending them to attack you.

Oh man, I can't believe any of these. It is JUST LIKE Journey to the Center of the Earth, minus prehistoric creatures of course! Or maybe not, there's not telling what you could find down there. It would be interesting to see something like this in DF.

I don't think my brain is processing these images properly. I see an arch, and my brain goes "that's not that great." Then I see the three pixels down the bottom and it goes "wow, that's a tiny person." Then it looks up again and sees the arch and goes "that's not that great."

Whereas in reality this is a ludicrously, unrealistically enormous cavern.

'Ludicrous' is a good word for all those images, I think.

What do you think the first forgotten beast that's gunna come out of those Caverns?
And I mean proper forgotten beasts, not just undisovered local wildlife.

I bet it's a puppy.

Ha! I'd be on the way out of those caverns by the time I heard ANYTHING non-human. You know it's probably a Tyrannosaur or something. The natural parts of the cavern itself probably took billions of years to form and then be opened up.

The forgotten beast "Chilean Miner" has come. A giganitc eyeless humanoid. He undulates rythmically. It has a gaunt appearance. Beware its deadly odour.
