While I do not drink beer I do have some knowledge of it from my Dad. And I thought this place needed a beer thread.

I enjoy talking about beer. And I felt this place needed a thread on beer.

Beer threads pop up occasionally. They just die down after a while, presumably when everyone passes out.

I am drinking a "FAXE ROYAL STRONG" right now, you can tell it's good because it's ALL CAPS. And it has a viking on the can. And it's 8%. I prefer Porter and Amber Ale though, generally. Also I am an alcoholic.

Is it a micro brew as it were? Cause lemme tell ya, there are so many respectable micro breweries out there. Mostly regional.

Personally, I have an extreme preference for Keith's. The brewery is about thirty minutes' walk from me, it's got local pride value, and it tastes bloody brilliant. Except the parent company is closing that brewery soon and moving to set up base in Quebec and Ontario. So lost love there.

Naw, I have some favourite semi-local brews (Okanagan Springs Porter = great success), but Faxe is a Danish export. According to their website they make a 10% beer. Do want.

Keiths Red, man. Keiths IPA is pretty good, but the Red is just fantastic.

I recently had Mississippi Mud, a porter and pilsner combination. It tastes like a lager with a roasted bean aftertaste, something between roasted chocolate and coffee, but not exactly those.

I like Sam Adams Boston Lager, when I can get it, although I usually only drink beer with my northern relatives who start with Miller High Life and move to PBR as the party moves from the basement to the back porch to the toilet.
