What if we be robot?
Then what would the point of meat and fish robots be?

What if we be robot?

Well, then the point is moot, isn't it?

I like to think that even when we become robots we continue to destroy the environment.

Just for old times sake.

... we'd do it because we'd have no reason to keep it.

This whole meat-is-inefficient talk reminds me of a book I read once, where the two main characters take a walk through a meat-maze, a maze created from genetically engineered beef which grew right out of the "walls", like a plant.
I yearn for a time when we can grow our own steak in a hydroponic fashion.

It will never taste as good as meat taken from live cows.

The pain and terror add to the flavor.

Pain and terror are flavor.

The beef cattle has no place in the wild. Better we raise them and kill them, then let them go extinct.

I liked better the genetically engineered pork of Douglas Adams, who simply loved to be eaten.

If we made Fish-Bots and Meat-Bots, we could eat them.
Only robots can eat meat-bots and fish-bots.
What if those meat and fish bots were made of meat and fish?
Then they would be called animals, and the circle would be complete.

And thus the robots are indistinguishable from the biological lifeforms, and it all becomes meaningless.  It's like the 'Brain in a Jar' problem, except in this case the brain is engineered flesh being pickled for consumption.

Mmm, pickled brain.  I hope Dwarf Fortress gets pickling in the long-promised cooking update.

And at some point in the future those meat bots and fish bots will evolve? And then they will wonder if someone created them? When we're flying away into space chasing after bagel shaped star formations? And they'll be like, no science proves you wrong, and then we'll be all like shiz, we created ourselves again.

I cannot explain how true this is.
I can't even sig it because it isn't even funny. Just so true.

The beef cattle has no place in the wild. Better we raise them and kill them, then let them go extinct.
We shall gradually open up the modern meat cow to more and more hostile environments emulating the open plains of the Southwest, forcing them to un-domesticate and become feral beasts that can survive on their own.
