Welcome to City 17, it's safer here, well, as long as those crazy Bay12 Forumites from Vegas continue spending all their time and resources trying to build an 'orbital magma cannon' using a 'gravity gun pump stack'. Whatever those things are...
 :P

Sorry, I'm just going to spam this thread with this stuff till it starts...

It will... Gimme a second.

I'll take a light transport vehicle, with a mounted rocket launcher and minigun, a citizen driving and two soldiers manning the weapons and a medic, and the crate of course. Altogether that's about 1200, assuming the medic costs 125.

Name: What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas.

2 BFG's: 350 points.
1 Light transport vehicle: 500 points.
2 soldiers: 200 points.
1 doctor: 100 points.
1 citizen: 50 points
The joy of blowing up your enemies with a rocket launcher, while killing the stragglers with a minigun: Priceless.
Killing enemies is priceless. For everything else, there's the bay 12 forums.

Actually, about right after the Resonance Cascade, and the escape of Black Mesa, the Combine appeared and wiped out Earth's military in 7 hours. 20 years afterwards is Half Life 2. Vegas would be gone in 1 month or transformed into City 24.

Yay! Player nitpicking!
My next target is not getting HEV suits and Gravity guns for one point each! It totally wouldn't be unbalanced or anything!

Edit: Also, it would seem given the time periods and the cannon-which-the-GM-seems-unused-to we'll either end up with a game in Las Vegas in the Seven hour war, in City X (It's not safer here) and or the ruins of a damaged beyond ihabitation/ repair Las Vegas. All seem pretty fun.

Really? the portal storms sound like they happened for a while before the Combine invasion...

TO THE WIKI!

EDIT: from the wiki timeline:

After May 200-

During this period of around 20 years Gordon Freeman is in stasis.[18] It starts at the aftermath of the Black Mesa Incident in May 200- and ends at Gordon's arrival in City 17 in 202-.
Portal Storms rage on Earth while Xen creatures continue to be teleported. The governments and United Nations provide the protection centers located in major cities worldwide.
The Combine launches an assault on Earth. Earth governments and the United Nations enter into war against them. The Seven Hour War occurs. Finally, Earth surrenders to the Combine and Wallace Breen, former Black Mesa Administrator, is appointed Earth Administrator.

EDIT: working on the kickoff.

The lost gamblers appear on a scenic road, traveling to vegas. Vacation time, baby!
The senseless heroes are In the top floor Of the MGM Grande. A national guard trooper just rescued them. You hear alien growling noises. Croikey, must be a bullsquid!
Undercover Spetsnaz Guard Squad #77 Is in their operation center in the Outskirts of Vegas. It seems as if The other spetsnaz squads have been murdered by zombies. Time to take what's left and leave.
The british hooligans wake up on sunset strips. Huh, man, that's a hangover and a half, what with the giant holes in the sky.
The A.I.M. Mercs are in The main building of the Tropicana resort. Infested by zombies.
What Happens in Vegas Stays In Vegas: It appears, not anymore. For some reason, you are driving along I15 into Vegas. Rescuing, perhaps?
Staying on the battlements of Excalibur may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but it appears that antalions are advancing up. well then lone survivors, get to work.

First, we change our name to "Stays in Vegas No More", second we look for any large malls, shooting anything that doesn't shoot us first.

Establish a barricaded perimeter and set up the M2 to cover whatever door is being assaulted. Give the M9 to the most competent looking civvie.

Kay, recording turn...

The Spetsnaz Guard Squad goes and gathers everything and tries to contact the HECU.
While the underlings gather the supplies, Ice begins to Contact the HECU...
"This is a secure radio frequency, Identify."

You pass by the forum shops, which are pretty much a collected mall. Disembark?

Senseless hero pats his M2 comfortingly. "Gonna have some fun, don't you think, Exie?"
